বিশ্বকবি রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের ১৬৫তম এবং জাতীয় কবি কাজী নজরুল ইসলামের ১২৭তম জন্মবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে আর.পি.এস.ইউ কালচারাল ক্লাব সাহিত্য, সংস্কৃতি ও চেতনার এক অনন্য উদযাপন হিসেবে বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন করে।

অনুষ্ঠানে সম্মানিত অতিথি অধ্যাপক ড. মনীন্দ্র কুমার রায় তাঁর বক্তব্যে রবীন্দ্রনাথ ও নজরুলের সুসম্পর্ক নিয়ে বক্তব্য প্রদান করেন। মূল পর্বে রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের “পোস্টমাস্টার” গল্পের নাট্যরূপ পরিবেশনের মাধ্যমে আয়োজনের সূচনা হয়।

অনুষ্ঠানের এক পর্বে কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতার আয়োজন করা হয় এবং বিজয়ীদের হাতে পুরস্কার তুলে দেওয়া হয়। এতে ১ম স্থান অর্জন করেন আমাদের বিভাগের কাজী ফারিহা ইসলাম সৃষ্টি (২৩ ব্যাচ) এবং ২য় স্থান অর্জন করেন সাবিহা মামুন তাইবা (২৬ ব্যাচ)।

Personalized medicine and Homeopathy
মেডিক্যাল সাইন্সের এই অত্যাধুনিক যুগে এসে আমরা অনুধাবন করছি personalized medicine বা precision medicine এর গুরুত্ব। একই সাইজের জামা যেমন সবাইকে ফিট করে না, তেমনি একই ডোজের একই ওষুধ সবার জন্য কোন একটা রোগের উপশমে কাজ নাও করতে পারে। কেননা, এটা নির্ভর করে মানুষের ব্যক্তিস্বাতন্ত্র্য, মানসিকতা, জীবনযাত্রা, খাবার দাবার ইত্যাদির উপর। এর অন্তর্নিহিত কারণ হিসেবে ব্যক্তিবিশেষের genetic variation (ক্ষেত্রবিশেষে genetic polymorphism) মূলত দায়ী। যার ফলে কোন একটা ওষুধের বিপাক প্রক্রিয়া (metabolism) ও রেচন (excretion) ভিন্ন ভিন্ন রোগীর ক্ষেত্রে ভিন্নরকম হতে পারে যাতে করে drug effect এর বৈসাদৃশ্য এমনকি বিষক্রিয়াও (toxicity) পরিলক্ষিত হয়। এই ধরনের জটিলতা থেকে উত্তোরণের জন্য রোগীর genomic sequencing ও biomarker profiling ইত্যাদি নির্ভরযোগ্য তথ্যের উপর ভিত্তি করে personalized medicine ফর্মুলেশন করা হয়ে থাকে।
আমি আসলে আজ লিখছি, প্রচলিত অন্য একটা চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতির সাথে এই ধারণার সাদৃশ্য নিয়ে। হোমিওপ্যাথিতেও কিন্তু একইভাবে কোন বিশেষ রোগের চিকিৎসা না করে বরং ওই রোগীর দেওয়া বিশদ বিবরণ, ব্যক্তিগত শারীরিক ও মানসিক লক্ষণ পর্যবেক্ষণ করা হয় এবং ঐতিহাসিক ‘সদৃশ বিধান’ প্রয়োগ করে তার ওষুধ নির্বাচন করা হয় (যেমন, সুস্থ মানুষের মধ্যে উপসর্গ সৃষ্টিকারী পদার্থের অতি ক্ষুদ্র মাত্রা ব্যবহার করে অসুস্থ মানুষের অনুরূপ উপসর্গের চিকিৎসা করা)।
ভাবছি, ১৭৯৬ সালে জার্মান চিকিৎসক ড. স্যামুয়েল হ্যানিম্যানের উদ্ভাবন আজ আধুনিক যুগের চিকিৎসা পদ্ধতির সাথে কতই না সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ!

An insightful and inspiring session successfully organized on "Sterilization in Pharmaceuticals" which was a part of a course entitled Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Immunology-II.

We were honored to have Asim Kumar Roy sir, Lead Manager of Quality Assurance at Eskayef Pharmaceuticals Ltd., as our guest faculty member. He shared valuable knowledge about pharmaceutical industry practices, sterilization processes, quality assurance and real-life industrial experiences that helped students gain a clearer understanding of the professional field.

The session was not only educational but also highly motivating. His inspiring words encouraged our students to work hard, build strong professional skills and become responsible and successful pharmacists in the future.
