আজ ২২ ফেব্রুয়ারি, বিশ্ব স্কাউট আন্দোলনের স্বপ্নদ্রষ্টা ও প্রতিষ্ঠাতা লর্ড ব্যাডেন পাওয়েল-এর শুভ জন্মবার্ষিকী বা 'বি.পি দিবস'।

তাঁর দেখানো শৃঙ্খলা, আত্মনির্ভরশীলতা এবং নিঃস্বার্থ সেবার মহান আদর্শ আজও বিশ্বব্যাপী লাখো তরুণকে আলোর পথ দেখিয়ে চলেছে। সুনাগরিক হিসেবে দেশ ও মানুষের কল্যাণে কাজ করার যে দীক্ষা তিনি দিয়ে গেছেন, তা আমাদের জন্য এক চিরন্তন প্রেরণা। এই বিশেষ দিনে তাঁর স্মৃতির প্রতি জানাই গভীর শ্রদ্ধা এবং স্কাউটিংয়ের মূলমন্ত্র 'সদা প্রস্তুত' থাকার দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার।

Since our journey began on 22.02.2022,
our scarf has stood for far more than just a triangular piece of cloth - It carries our identity, our pride and our unwavering commitment to the spirit and values of Scouting.

Every thread of this scarf reminds us
of our Promise, Laws, Motto,

শহীদ স্কাউটার মীর মাহফুজুর রহমান মুগ্ধ (Mir Mugdho)

পানি বিতরণ করতে গিয়ে গুলিবিদ্ধ হোন)

ছোটবেলা থেকেই স্কাউট আন্দোলনের সঙ্গে সম্পৃক্ত ছিল মুগ্ধ। উত্তরা স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজে প্রাথমিকে পড়ার সময় থেকেই কাব স্কাউটিং শুরু করেন। এরপর স্কাউট ও রোভার স্কাউট হিসেবে আমর্ড পুলিশ ব্যাটালিয়ন স্কাউট গ্রুপের সঙ্গে কাজ করেছেন। একই ইউনিটে ইউনিট লিডার হিসেবে সম্পৃক্ত ছিলেন।

শহীদ মুগ্ধ সবসময় বলতেন, “আমার পরিবারের পরে আরও যদি কোনো পরিবার থেকে থাকে তাহলে সেটা স্কাউট পরিবার।” তিনি সবসময় স্কাউটদের নিজের পরিবারের সদস্য মনে করতেন এবং পরিবারের সদস্য হিসেবেই সবাইকে সম্মান করতেন।

জুলাই আন্দোলনে মুগ্ধর পরিকল্পনা ছিল, আহতদের হাসপাতালে পৌঁছে দিতে তিনি সহযোগিতা করবেন। ১৮ জুলাই প্রচণ্ড গরম ছিল। শহীদ মুগ্ধ পরিকল্পনা করেন আন্দোলনকারীদের মাঝে পানি ও বিস্কুট বিতরণ করবেন। মুগ্ধর চিন্তা ছিল, “আমি একজন স্কাউট। আমি কোনো হিংসাত্মক কাজ করব না। আন্দোলনে শরিক হবো শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে। যেভাবে স্কাউটরা সর্বত্র সেবা দেয়, এখানেও সেভাবেই সেবা দিবো।” ১৮ জুলাই উত্তরার আজমপুরে মুগ্ধ যখন গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে রাস্তায় পরে ছিল, তখনও তার ডান হাতে ধরা ছিল পানির বোতল আর বিস্কুটের কেস।

মহান আল্লাহ্ আমাদের শহীদ ভাইকে জান্নাতবাসী করুন 🤲
