The program “Poverty Alleviation: Targeting The Ultra-Poor (TUP)” has been successfully launched by Islamic Aid-UK at Birulia union, Savar upazila, Dhaka district of Bangladesh in where people living in ultra-poverty are confronted by a multitude of interconnected and cyclical problems. They have little or no land or productive assets and simultaneously struggle to cope with food shortages, poor health, social stigma, and a lack of basic needs.
