Prantojon Foundation
BACKGROUND
Prantojon Foundation was established in 2006(reg. in May, 2009) with motto of a non-profitable, non-political, non-governmental, voluntary and charitable organization. With registration in joint stock companies and firms, the Government of Bangladesh, Prantojon Foundation embarked upon its journey as socio-economic and development organization to address the needs
of the socio-economic emancipation of distress, deprived and underprivileged people living in the society. It intends to develop human resources mainstreaming marginalized people, particularly children and women with human security and social justice. VISION
Prantojon would be a vibrant center of excellence for safeguarding rights of the most distress segment in the society so as to enable them to be self-reliant through strengthening partnership with different stakeholders for scaling up the innovative approach across Bangladesh where underprivileged section have no access to food, health, education and employment. It strives to establish an environment of friendly and just based society with equal prospect for all human beings irrespective of caste, creed, gender, profession, and education and so on. Prantojon envisions a just world that promotes and protects human rights, gender equality, environmental protection and education for all. MISSION
Prantojon would complement the national efforts of the Government of Bangladesh to promote sustainable socio-economic and human development. Prantojon envisions for social justice and human security based development in the light of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Prantojon’s mission is to ensure that disadvantaged people’s rights; social, economic and environmental justice; and sustainable development principles at the heart of its policies, programs and practices. GOALS
o To undertake and carry on any humanitarian or charitable programme for the poor and under privileged people;
o To take up programme for promotion of health and education of the most disadvantaged section of the society, particularly for children and women;
o Promotion & protection of human rights addressing women & child rights;
o To contribute in the area of disaster management and climate change adaptation;
o To promote research and innovation through partnership;
o To create public awareness for community participation and ownership to Prantojon. APPROACH
Prantojon views strong and diverse partnerships to meeting its goals and objectives. It has to ally with right based national and international development organizations; governments; and intergovernmental organizations, including the United Nations, to achieve its mission. Prantojon’s core competency is rest with high-level advocacy in national and international arenas, while building bridges among a range of stakeholders.
