1. Project Overview
Cattle for Change is a flagship livelihood and empowerment initiative by JCI Dhaka Mavericks, aimed at creating sustainable income, employment, and educational opportunities for underprivileged families, with a special focus on women. The project addresses multiple social challengesâpoverty, unemployment, lack of education, and gender inequalityâthrough a long-term, sustainable approach.
Under this initiative, a fully functional cow farm with 30 cows was built in Nouga, Mohadebpur, creating a foundation for economic independence and community development. The project not only generates income but also equips women with skills and resources to lead their households, educate their children, and contribute meaningfully to their community.

3. Key Activities & Achievements
a) Cow Farm Construction
A modern, fully operational cow farm with 30 cows was established in Nouga, Mohadebpur. The farm serves as a sustainable source of income and resources, ensuring continuous employment and support for local families.
b) Women Empowerment & Employment
Women from the community were trained to manage the farm and produce milk-based products. The milk is used to make sweets, which women sell, providing financial independence, skill development, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
c) Education Support
Income generated from the farm enables families to send their children to school, ensuring better access to quality education and fostering long-term social and economic development.
d) Job Creation & Skills Development
The project created multiple employment opportunities in dairy production, farm management, and allied activities. Women and young adults gained practical skills, boosting their employability and confidence.
e) Community Impact
By combining livelihood, education, and empowerment, the project improves overall living standards, enhances food security, and strengthens family resilience. It serves as a replicable model for sustainable community development.
