Project Description:
The Inner Wheel Club of Southern Lights, Dhaka, undertook a service initiative by donating an electric fan to support the orphaned students of Darul Falah Hifzul Quran and Ta'limul Quran Madrasa. This contribution was made to create a more comfortable and conducive environment for their daily studies and activities during the hot season.
This small yet meaningful effort reflects the Club’s commitment to serving society with compassion and dedication, particularly for the well-being of underprivileged children.
Beneficiaries: Orphaned madrasa students (Many)
Cost: Tk. 2,700 (Funded by Tesnim Musavee, Vice President II)
The donation will help improve ventilation and comfort for the students, supporting a better learning environment.
The Club remains committed to continuing such humanitarian initiatives for the betterment of society.

Earth Day 2026 – Planet vs. Plastics Every year on April 22, we come together to celebrate Earth Day, a global movement dedicated to protecting our planet and combating climate change. This year, the Theme is “Planet vs. Plastics”, focusing on the urgent need to reduce plastic production by 60% by 2040 and protect our environment from its harmful effects. At the Inner Wheel Club of Southern Lights Dhaka, we believe that small steps make a big difference. Together, we can: Save electricity and use energy responsibly. Avoid single-use plastics and choose sustainable alternatives. Plant trees to restore nature and improve air quality. Use bicycles or public transport to reduce carbon emissions. Spread awareness about environmental conservation in our communities. Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22, 1970, when 20 million Americans joined streets, parks, and auditoriums to demand a healthy, sustainable environment. Senator Ga***rd Nelson, often called the Father of Earth Day, inspired a movement that continues to grow globally today. Let’s honor Earth Day by taking action for our planet, because a healthier Earth today ensures a brighter tomorrow.

Pohela Boishakh is the Bengali New Year celebrated by the Bengali people worldwide and as a holiday on 14 April in Bangladesh.
We joyfully celebrated Pahela Baishakh at the residence of our President, Humaira Hamid. Dressed in vibrant red and white sarees,adorned with fragrant garlands, we shared delicious food and drinks, embracing the spirit of the Bengali New Year together.

Inner Wheel Club of Southern Lights Dhaka proudly organized “Stitching Dreams: Women’s Skill Development Project” as an initiative to empower underprivileged women through sewing training.
The project was undertaken with the objective of providing sewing training to underprivileged women, enabling them to acquire practical vocational skills and become self-reliantand contribute to their family income. Under the guidance of experienced trainers, the participants received hands-on instruction in sewing techniques, cutting, stitching, and machine handling.
This initiative reflects Inner Wheel’s commitment to women’s empowerment and sustainable community development. The project also promoted confidence, independence, and dignity among the participants.
Through this project, we hope to inspire confidence, independence, and a brighter future for every participant.
Inner Wheel Club of Southern Lights Dhaka remains dedicated to continuing such impactful service projects for the betterment of society.
