History of Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Khulna ,

The journey of Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Khulna began with the aim of increasing social service and international harmony by uniting for the neglected people of the society while maintaining high ethics in business and profession.
The Governor of Rotary District 3281 in the year of 2020-21 Md Rubayet Hossain Hossain took the initiative to form this club. For this he assigned the responsibility to the then secretary of Rotary Club of Khulna Golden City Ferdausur Rahman Piash. A total number of 25 members are recruited as per the terms of Rotary International. That's year District Executive Secretary Toslim Zaman Nayon suggested naming the club-Cosmopolitan Khulna. District Governor Md. Rubaiyat Hossain appointed Rotary Club of Dhaka Heritage as sponsor club and Past President Rtn Ashish Dey as club advisor and sent the new club application to Rotary International. Finally on June 23, 2021 the president of Rotary International, Holger Knack, started the club's journey with his signature.
After serving only 7 days in the Rotary year 2020-21, Ferdausur Rahman Piash again took responsibility as the club president for the Rotary year 2021-22. This year on September 10, 2021, the club organized charter presentations and the 1st installation ceremony. HE Banshidhar Mishra the ambassador of Nepal to Bangladesh was present online as the chief guest and HE Guner Uria the ambassador of Kosovo to Bangladesh as chief guest (closing). The year filled with numerous social service projects made the name of the club known in every part of the country. This year, along with various social activities, the club sponsored 2 Rotaract Clubs, 1 Interact Club and 1 Rotary Community Corps. This year the club received the presidential citation from Rotary International.
MD Monzurul Karim served as the President of the club in the Rotary year 2022-23. This year the club's installation was held on 29 July 2022. Past President Rotarian Ferdousi Ali was present as the chief guest. Khulna Press Club President Rotarian S M Nazrul Islam was the special guest. A year filled with numerous service projects also earned the Presidential Citation from Rotary International this year.
Samsul Arefin Chowdhury Leon leading the club in the Rotary year 2023-24. This year Charter President Ferdausur Rahman Piash is serving as Assistant Governor in District. This year the club's 3rd installation was held on 19 July 2023. District 3281 Governor Md. Ashrafuzzaman Nannu was present as the chief guest and District 3281 Governor Elect Hafiz U Biplob was the special guest. Among the significant service projects of this year was the Rotary Health Fair. Around 35 clubs from different parts of District 3281 joined us as co-hosts to make the project a success.
Oyaki Ahanaf is leading the club in the Rotary year 2024-25. This year the club's installation ceremony was held on November 2, 2024. The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. Laskar Tajul Islam, Chief Executive Officer of Khulna City Corporation.
In the Rotary year 2025-26, the club will once again be led by its Charter President Ferdausur Rahman Piash. This year the club's installation ceremony was held on July 19, 2025.

Finally, Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Khulna move forward on the path of the future.

It is with immense joy and pride that we announce the successful unveiling and publication ceremony of our special Rotary publication and commemorative journal, 'Footprints' (পদচিহ্ন). Organized at the Seminar Hall of the District Social Services Office, Khulna, the colorful event turned into a grand gathering of distinguished guests and well-wishers.

This landmark project was successfully executed as a joint initiative by the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Khulna, Rotary Club of Khulna, Rotary Club of Khulna Royals, Rotary Club of Abahanikunja Dhaka and Rotary Club of Gazipur Central.

Responding to our invitation, the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chittagong and eminent academician, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yahya Akhtar, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His inspiring words have deeply motivated our entire team, strengthening our resolve to serve humanity with even greater dedication.

The event was further elevated by the gracious presence of our Special Guest, Mr. Md. Jahid Hossain, Managing Director of PS Group.

This publication is far more than just a book; it stands as a comprehensive illustrated archive documenting the impactful humanitarian and social welfare initiatives—including community development, healthcare, education, and women’s empowerment—driven by the Rotary Clubs of Bangladesh.
