Trinamul Unnayan Sangstha (TUS) organised the Youth and Adolescent Conference- 2026 on 12 May 2026 in Cox’s Bazar, jointly with GRAUS and Ashika Development Associates, under the slogan “Youth as Frontline Defenders Against Human Trafficking and Gender-Based Violence in the Chittagong Hill Tracts” through the “Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF)” initiative.

The conference served as a significant platform for reflection, learning, and collective action, bringing together youth and adolescents from different areas to strengthen solidarity, collaboration, and a shared commitment to youth leadership and building a generation ready to stand against injustice and protect their communities.

The event aimed to present evidence-based insights on trafficking and gender-based violence (GBV) in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), inspire and motivate youth to actively engage in prevention efforts, strengthen youth capacity in identifying risks and reporting mechanisms, and promote youth leadership and participation in community-level actions.

Through interactive discussions and participatory sessions, the conference focused on the current situation of violence against women and human trafficking in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, explored the existing challenges faced by women and girls, and identified necessary collective actions, advocacy strategies, and community-based responses to address these issues.

TUS sought to convey the message that empowered youth are the foundation of a safe and resilient society; breaking the silence among youth helps prevent trafficking and resist violence; and youth leadership is essential for building a just and inclusive future.
This conference was not merely a platform for discussion; it was a powerful initiative to amplify youth voices, ideas, and leadership. Here, young people not only received information, but also shared their experiences, thought critically, and defined their role in driving change. Real transformation becomes possible when youth combine awareness with responsibility.
