“Shopno Dakho” is a social service organization founded on 28th March 2013. Our aim to help deprived children by serving fundamental human rights. The activity of the organization assists children to become a true human being and to develop youth. The “Jonakir Mela Pathshala” project has motivated a good number of children towards a positive aspect in their life. Mission:

 To provide elementary

education to slum children living around Jessore city
 To teach/share the happiness with the children’s and to build their morality, dignity, honesty as well as social values

 To train them towards a skill based knowledge to survive in the real world
 To make them aware of health & sanitation as well as s*x education (if requires)
 To prevent them from inappropriate and hazardous work

 To establish them as a true human being in the society
 To protect children from s*xual harassment/assault, discrimination and trafficking

Vision:
Our vision is to keep all deprived children from Dhaka as well as all over the world under an umbrella. Slum children need to get an immediate attention to keep them safe first then insure their fundamental education. Objectives:

“Shopno Dakho” provides pre-primary education to slum children
• The foundation arranges various skills based training initiatives that help them to take part in occupations that the society admits
• It provides necessary education (As well as drawing, acting, reciting, dancing, debating etc) to the deprive children. Proposed Work Plan:

Shopno Dakho is looking forward to accomplish the following projects and activities:-
1. To build a shelter house of our own to accommodate the most vulnerable slum children where they will reside and learn properly
2. To create awareness among parents of the slum children
3. To encourage and involve more to their parents into vocational training e.g. sewing (running), printing, embroidery, cottage industries, computer training (running)
4. Promoting health and nutrition center for the welfare of the children
5. Providing facilities for primary level who did good in secondary level to higher education

How “Jonakir Mela Pathshala” works:

“Jonakir Mela Pathshala” is a Pathshala (school) located at Kharki, Dhaka. The Pathshala invites students those who live in the slum or don’t have facility to access general primary education around Jessore city. The school operates 7.00 AM to 9.00 AM (First Shift) and 3.00 PM to 5.00 PM (Second shift) during Saturday to Thursday except Fridays & Public Holidays. The Pathshala provides two types of educational supports

1. Pre-schooling: There is no age limit to get admitted on this program. Pre-primary education is a one year course where students learn mostly general literacy beside health & hygiene and other important adaptation techniques to survive on the street.

2. Coaching/guiding: Students those who are graduated from pre-school they are shifted to nearby primary schools. Those students come here to prepare their class studies and further assistance. Students come from vulnerable walks of life. Most of them live in the street or slums. Many of them have single parent and their parent is working people who don’t have time to look after their kid/s. The pre-school though opens in the afternoon but it helps as an alternative of a day care center. The school provides free stationeries like school bag, dress, books, pencil etc to all students. They also get healthy Tiffin who attends the school.

”Jonakir Mela Pathshala” has various types of awareness building program for their students. It arranges adaptation program to create awareness not only for their students but their parent/s or guardian also. Every six month “Jonakir Mela Pathshala” arranges a free medical camp for all students and even their parent/s or guardian. We also allocate some free medicine. We believe that family is important, a healthy and sound family environment should be ensured. All of you are welcome to stand by us, support us, counseling us, volunteer with us & help the children to dream for their bright & secured future.
