Human rights are not privileges to be earned, but promises we are all born with. In a world divided by differences, they remind us that dignity, freedom, and justice belong to every soul equally.
When even one voice is silenced, humanity loses a part of itself, so we must choose to stand, to speak, and to protect what makes us human.

Art: Stitched Lips, Unbroken Soul
Theme: Human Rights

Artist : Fahmida Akter Nipa
Department : Political Science
Session : 2022-23

In this image, the boy’s lips are stitched shut—symbolizing how his right to speak has been taken away, how he has been forced into silence. The tears in his eyes reflect pain, injustice, and deep suffering.
From his chest, a bird is emerging—this represents freedom, hope, and the human soul. The chains wrapped around him symbolize oppression and the forces that try to control and confine him.
Yet, the bird is breaking free. This shows that despite the silence imposed on him, his spirit remains unbroken. His truth, his desire for freedom, and his fundamental human rights are still alive.
The artwork conveys a powerful message: voices can be silenced, but the soul, the truth, and the essence of human rights can never be fully suppressed.

Title: Bitter Tea Harvest
Artist: Taposhi Rabya Hyder
Department of International Relations.
Session: 2021-22

This artwork is inspired by the long history of discrimination and marginalisation faced by tea labourers in Bangladesh. For generations, families have been confined within tea gardens, where life has revolved around plucking leaves under harsh conditions, with little access to education, healthcare, or basic rights.

‎The painting portrays a faceless tea worker, symbolising how this community has remained invisible despite contributing to a global industry. The low daily wage, delayed payments, and lack of land rights highlight the structural inequalities they continue to face. Historically rooted in colonial exploitation, this system has trapped workers in cycles of poverty, limiting their freedom and opportunities.

‎Yet, there are signs of change. A new generation is slowly breaking barriers through education and resilience. “Bitter Tea Harvest” captures both the pain of the past and the quiet hope for a more just and dignified future.

Theme:Human Rights

While the artwork inspired by the devastation in Gaza, represents the suffering of people living under conflict and oppression across the world. This is just not about one place but every place where humanity is forgotten. From Gaza to Sudan, from Congo, syria, uyghur to countless unseen lands where homes turn to dust, children to silence, and hope to ashes. This drawing speaks for those whose voices are buried under war, hunger, and separation.
Human rights are not selective yet suffering continues without borders.
