Shishu Polli Plus (SPP) emerged as the champions of the Girls’ Cricket Tournament 2026 after defeating Tepir Bari Ansar High School by 8 wickets in an exciting final match.
The Girls’ Cricket Tournament 2026 was officially launched on January 5, 2026, with the participation of seven schools from the neighborhood of Shishu Polli Plus. After a month of competitive matches, Shishu Polli Plus and Tepir Bari Ansar High School advanced to the final.
In the final match, SPP won the toss and elected to field first. Batting first, Tepir Bari Ansar High School scored 88 runs in 10 overs, losing two wickets. Munni was the top scorer for her team, making 35 runs off 25 balls.
Chasing the target, the SPP team delivered a confident batting performance, reaching the target with 8 wickets in hand and 2 balls remaining, losing only two wickets. Joty played a remarkable innings, scoring 59 runs off 28 balls and smashing a fantastic half-century for SPP.
For her outstanding performance, Joty was awarded the player of the Match. Despite her team finishing as runners-up, Munni was named Player of the Tournament, scoring a total of 156 runs and taking 7 wickets across 5 matches.
The final match began with the toss conducted by Ms. Patricia Kerr, Founder of Shishu Polli Plus. After the tournament, Ms. Patricia Kerr and Mr. Mahbubur Rahman Joynal, Managing Director of Hotel Purbani, handed over the championship trophy to the winning SPP team.
The closing ceremony was attended by Mr. Rezaul Karim, Project In-Charge, Shishu Polli Plus, Mr. Mamunur Rashid, Head of the Girls’ Cricket Project, Farzana kakoly, Cricket Coach. members of the senior management team of Shishu Polli Plus, and representatives from all participating schools.
The tournament highlighted SPP’s continued commitment to empowering girls through sports, teamwork, and leadership.
