BCCM Secretariat is pleased to inform you all that former DG, DGHS Professor Mohammad Abul Faiz of Bangladesh for his outstanding contributions to public health has been awarded Dr Lee jong-wook memorial prize for public health in 2026 from WHO.

He is the first person from Bangladesh who got this prestigious award.

The award recognizes his outstanding contributions to fighting neglected tropical diseases, snakebite envenoming, and malaria.

BCCM congratulates him for his outstanding achievement. He has performed as GF Board Member and BCCM Vice Chair earlier. He is now BCCM Member from Academia Constituency.
