Her research interests include 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬, 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐗𝐀𝐈), 𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 (𝐈𝐨𝐓). She has authored 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝟖𝟎 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 in leading international journals and conferences, including 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬, 𝐈𝐂𝐓 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬, and 𝐍𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.

Dr. Sultana is a 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫 (Patent No. 𝟏𝟎-𝟐𝟕𝟗𝟔𝟓𝟑𝟕) for research on RDF data compression, with another patent application currently pending. She is also the editor of the IntechOpen volume 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 and serves as the 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐢𝐳𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐁𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐬, the technology magazine of the Biztech Foundation.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to computing and research, she received the 𝐈𝐄𝐄𝐄 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓. She currently serves as the 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐩𝐮𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 of the IEEE Computer Society Bangladesh Chapter and actively contributes to numerous IEEE conference committees.
