Vabna is a registered non-governmental, non-profit, and voluntary development
organization established in 2001 in Dinajpur, Bangladesh. The organization was founded
in response to the growing challenges of drug addiction, social inequality, and
environmental degradation in the northern region of the country. Over the years, Vabna has grown from a small local initiative into a multidimensional
soci
al development organization working to improve the quality of life of vulnerable
communities through rehabilitation, education, empowerment, and environmental
conservation. The organization operates with the belief that sustainable social change can only be
achieved through compassion, community participation, and inclusive development. Vabna’s programs therefore combine healthcare, social awareness, skill development, and
ecological restoration — creating a holistic model of community well-being. At present, Vabna’s core activities cover three major areas:
Drug Rehabilitation and Counseling: Operating one of the region’s most
experienced rehabilitation centres that provides medical treatment, psychological
counseling, and social reintegration services for individuals suffering from drug
addiction. Ethnic Minority Development: Supporting marginalized indigenous groups such as
the Kora community through education, livelihood programs, and social inclusion
initiatives. Social Welfare and Environmental Programs: Promoting community welfare, tree
plantation, and environmental conservation activities to ensure a greener and more
sustainable future. Through these diverse initiatives, Vabna continues to work toward a society that is healthy,
aware, self-reliant, and compassionate.
