Two-Day Training Workshop on "Environmental Management System (EMS): ISO 14001:2015" Held at Auditorium 1,HSTU Dinajpur, August 15-16, 2025:
A two-day training workshop on "Environmental Management System (EMS): ISO 14001:2015" was held at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU). The workshop was jointly organized by the Society of Environment (SoE), a social and environmental organization, and AJA Bangladesh Ltd. It took place on August 15-16, 2025, on the university campus, with the participation of 250 students from various faculties.
The chief guest of the event was the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Dr. M. Enamullah. Special guests included Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Kabir, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Md. Maniruzzaman Bahadur, Proctor Prof. Dr. Md. Shamsuzzoha, Registrar Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Hasan and Student Advisor Prof. Dr. S. M. Emdadul Hasan. The workshop was presided over by Prof. Dr. Md. Shoaibur Rahman, President of the Society of Environment (SoE) and Chairman of the Department of Agroforestry and Environment.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shamsul Alam, Head of Operations & Lead Auditor, AJA Bangladesh Ltd. And Mr. Abu Fattah Md. Isa, Lead Auditor & Trainer, AJA Bangladesh Ltd.,as resource person.
Highlights of the First Day(15th August) of the EMS: ISO 14001:2015 Training Workshop at HSTU
Following the inauguration ceremony, the first day of the workshop featured an interactive quiz competition on environmental topics. Participants enthusiastically engaged in the contest, after which five top scorers were selected to deliver one-minute speeches on environmental issues. Based on their performance, two winners were chosen by the judges for special recognition and awards.
The event proceeded with closing remarks from the honorable guests, appreciating the participants' enthusiasm and emphasizing the importance of environmental awareness. Afterward, the main training session commenced, covering key aspects of ISO 14001:2015 and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). The first day concluded with an engaging and informative discussion, setting the stage for the next day’s sessions.
