Today(20.08.25) is the first day of the "Clean Campus Initiative" by Society of Environment,Hstu. A group of environmentally responsible students participated in this work. The President of the Society of Environment honourable Prof. Dr. Md. Shoaibur Rahman Sir actively participated in the program and provided guidance.
The primary goal of our work today was to clean up the targeted spots (in front of Auditorium 1, in front of the Shaheed Minar, and the field of Nur Hossain Hall) by removing microplastics, plastic materials, and other pollutants.These plastics do not decompose. They also cause significant problems for plant root systems and the environment.Activities like these promote a sustainable environment.

On 15th September, the first committee meeting of Society of Environment was convened, chaired by the Honourable President, Prof. Dr. Md. Shoaibur Rahman Sir and attended by the Honourable Treasurer, Israt Jahan Sarmin Mam, along with all committee members. The agenda focused on formalizing the member recognition process, strategic planning for future activities, the execution of essential official duties and a productive exchange of insights from members on initiatives for the society's betterment.

A two-day training workshop on the "Environmental Management System (EMS): ISO 14001:2015" was held at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU). The event was jointly organized by the Society of Environment (SoE), a social and environmental organization, and AJA Bangladesh Ltd. It took place on August 15-16, 2025, on the university campus, with the participation of 250 students from various faculties

The event was jointly organized by the Society of Environment (SoE), a social and environmental organization, and AJA Bangladesh Ltd. It took place on August 15-16, 2025, on the university campus, with the participation of 250 students from various faculties.
Highlights from Day 2:
The day's session began on time after participant attendance was taken. A quiz session on the workshop's topics was conducted, which the participants engaged in enthusiastically.
This was followed by a group activity where participants were divided into ten teams. Each team created and presented a poster on stage. The trainer evaluated the presentations based on several parameters, such as presentation skills and content severity rating, and selected one team as the winner.
The workshop concluded with a closing speech from our honorable guest. Then our honourable guest presented a crest to the guest trainer and certificates to a number of participants.

A two-day training workshop on "Environmental Management System (EMS): ISO 14001:2015" was held at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (HSTU). The workshop was jointly organized by the Society of Environment (SoE), a social and environmental organization, and AJA Bangladesh Ltd. It took place on August 15-16, 2025, on the university campus, with the participation of 250 students from various faculties.

The chief guest of the event was the Honorable Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Dr. M. Enamullah. Special guests included Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Kabir, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Dr. Md. Maniruzzaman Bahadur, Proctor Prof. Dr. Md. Shamsuzzoha, Registrar Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Hasan and Student Advisor Prof. Dr. S. M. Emdadul Hasan. The workshop was presided over by Prof. Dr. Md. Shoaibur Rahman, President of the Society of Environment (SoE) and Chairman of the Department of Agroforestry and Environment.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shamsul Alam, Head of Operations & Lead Auditor, AJA Bangladesh Ltd. And Mr. Abu Fattah Md. Isa, Lead Auditor & Trainer, AJA Bangladesh Ltd.,as resource person.

Highlights of the First Day(15th August) of the EMS: ISO 14001:2015 Training Workshop at HSTU

Following the inauguration ceremony, the first day of the workshop featured an interactive quiz competition on environmental topics. Participants enthusiastically engaged in the contest, after which five top scorers were selected to deliver one-minute speeches on environmental issues. Based on their performance, two winners were chosen by the judges for special recognition and awards.

The event proceeded with closing remarks from the honorable guests, appreciating the participants' enthusiasm and emphasizing the importance of environmental awareness. Afterward, the main training session commenced, covering key aspects of ISO 14001:2015 and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). The first day concluded with an engaging and informative discussion, setting the stage for the next day’s sessions.

৩. লক্ষ্য ও উদ্দেশ্য
৩.১ লক্ষ্য (Goal)
SOCIETY OF ENVIRONMENT (SoE) একটি অরাজনৈতিক, অলাভজনক, শিক্ষাবিষয়ক ও পরিবেশবান্ধব সংগঠন, যার প্রধান লক্ষ্য পরিবেশ সুরক্ষা, টেকসই উন্নয়ন এবং জনসচেতনতা সৃষ্টি।
৩.২ উদ্দেশ্যসমূহ (Objectives)
১. পরিবেশ সংরক্ষণ ও টেকসই ব্যবস্থাপনায় শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে সচেতনতা ও আগ্রহ সৃষ্টি করা।
২. পরিবেশ বিষয়ক গবেষণা, সেমিনার, কর্মশালা, প্রশিক্ষণ, প্রকাশনা এবং ভ্রাম্যমাণ কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করা।
৩. জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন, দূষণ, বন উজাড়, প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ এবং অন্যান্য পরিবেশগত সমস্যার প্রতি দৃষ্টি আকর্ষণ ও প্রতিরোধে ভূমিকা রাখা।
৪. পরিবেশবান্ধব কৃষি, বনজ সম্পদ ব্যবস্থাপনা, নবায়নযোগ্য শক্তি ও সবুজ প্রযুক্তি প্রসারে শিক্ষার্থীদের উৎসাহিত করা।
৫. স্থানীয়, জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক পর্যায়ে পরিবেশ বিষয়ক দিবস উদযাপন ও সামাজিক কার্যক্রম আয়োজন।
৬. বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় পর্যায়ে পরিবেশবিষয়ক শিক্ষা ও পেশাগত দক্ষতার উন্নয়নে সহায়ক ভূমিকা পালন।
৭. অন্যান্য পরিবেশবাদী সংগঠন, সরকারি ও বেসরকারি সংস্থা এবং শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের সঙ্গে পারস্পরিক সহযোগিতা স্থাপন।
৮. পরিবেশগত ন্যায়বিচার ও প্রাকৃতিক সম্পদের টেকসই ব্যবহারের লক্ষ্যে মতামত, পরামর্শ ও সুপারিশ প্রদান।
৯. পরিবেশ সুরক্ষায় শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বেচ্ছাসেবী ও নেতৃত্বমূলক দক্ষতা বিকাশ।
১০. পরিবেশবান্ধব জীবনধারার প্রচারে তথ্য প্রযুক্তি ও গণমাধ্যমের কার্যকর ব্যবহার।
