Inter Cantonment Coach Reveal: 2/3
ACCDC now believes in Canon events, after so much trouble finding a coach, we got a true gem of a person. Yes, Ananyo Bijoy was that quiet strength behind us in the Inter Cantonment Parliamentary Debate Competition 2025. Even with exams knocking at his door and an international tournament ahead, he showed up every single time. The night before his flight to Malaysia for Kuantan ABP 2025, he was still there, sitting beside us, helping shape cases and refine arguments. His dedication was beyond reason, and his love for debating - almost sacred. He didn't just teach us how to argue better; he taught us how to think braver.
Here’s what Central Club Prefect of ACCDC, Taslim Ahmed Tamim has to say about Ananyo Bijoy:
"Bijoy bhai is someone I truly dream to be, and one of the very few characters I deeply cherish in my life. From my earliest days of debating, I was, in every sense, a disciple of Bijoy bhai. My first ever session in ASDC was conducted by him, and even then, I remember being in complete awe of how effortlessly he carried both grace and brilliance. The amount of trust and respect I have for him has only grown stronger over the years.
Beyond being my debating mentor, Bijoy bhai has been my personal guide, a constant source of wisdom, precision, and unshakable discipline. He is one of those rare people who never miss the mark, always on time, always composed, always right where you need him to be. During my examinations, I relied on him immensely. He helped me navigate not just academics, but also the overwhelming anxieties that came with them. His help did not just make me pass, it made me believe that I could. That is why there has always been a profound sense of belonging between us, a quiet, unspoken understanding built on faith and gratitude.
When we were trembling for guidance before Intercants, when others stepped away and we were left searching for someone to trust, there was only one name echoing in my mind, Ananyo Bijoy. The person who never failed me, the person whose trust I could lean on without hesitation. But the timing was cruel. He was preparing for the Kuantan ABP 2025, an international tournament in Malaysia, managing back to back exams just to earn the break he needed. Yet even then, when I approached him with the request to coach ACCDC, he did not turn away. He hesitated for a moment, and then, as always, he chose commitment over comfort.
From that point on, I witnessed something truly extraordinary. Despite the pressure, he gave his all, crafting flawless cases, shaping our arguments, and refining every single detail until perfection. He treated the responsibility not as a favor, but as a duty, and in doing so, he carried seven uncertain souls straight toward triumph. I truly believe that without his relentless effort and conviction, we would not have made it past the regional rounds. Every time I saw him during those sessions, a strange calm settled in me, as if the storm outside could never reach us as long as he was there.
Even the night before his flight to Malaysia, while he could have been packing or resting, he was still with us, exhausted yet entirely focused, helping us polish our last few arguments. Watching him that night, I realized something. Dedication is not about showing up when it is convenient, it is about showing up when no one else would.
Thank you, Bijoy bhai, not just for your time or your guidance, but for believing in us when it mattered most. Even with all your academic, personal, and competitive pressures, you stood by us like a brother, a mentor, and a silent force that carried us through. Personally, I will remain indebted to you forever, for your faith, your discipline, and the courage you taught us to hold onto when everything else seemed uncertain."
Even with sleepless nights and long study hours, he carried our nerves with a smile. He came when he didn’t have to, stayed when he could’ve left, and believed in us long before we believed in ourselves. Bijoy didn’t just coach a team, he built a family, and in every argument we made on that stage, his spirit echoed through our words.
