Toru- A welfare organization is an independent, non-profit, non-political welfare organization of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX). It is purely for charitable purposes, particularly supporting education, health-care and other related relief services. Its mission is to be one of the principal charitable organizations of BUTEX, and be self-reliant and committed to supporting humanity and a
lleviating human sufferings through providing educational, medical and community support, relief works, blood donating, tree plantation & developing the present situations of street children etc. With several relief programs in recent times Toru has shown a great effort in social welfare. It has a very good organizational structure. The membership is open to all BUTEX students provided that they are committed to abide by its constitution.
মানুষ মানুষের জন্য।প্রতিটি মানুষেরই তার স্বজাতির প্রতি রয়েছে কিছু দায়িত্ব ও কিছু কর্তব্য।সমাজের অসহায় মানুষগুলোকে দেখে খারাপ লাগেনা এমন মানুষ খুব কমই আছে।সমাজের বিভিন্ন অনিয়ম,বৈষম্য প্রায়শই আমাদের নাড়া দেয়।
আমরা যখন লাল দালানে রাত্রি যাপন করতেছি তখন একদল লোক এই তীব্র শীতের মধ্যে পাতলা একটা জীর্ণ কাঁথা পড়ে শুয়ে আছে।সখ করে মাসে একদিন হলেও দামী রেস্টুরেন্টের গ্রিলচিকেন না খেলে আমাদের চলে না কিন্তু এমনও মানুষের অভাব নেই যারা ডাস্টবিন ছাড়া অন্য কোথাও গ্রিল খুঁজার সাহস পায় না।
সমাজের এই মানুষগুলোর জন্যে আমাদের সবারই মন কম বেশী কাঁদে।কিন্তু এরা সংখ্যায় অনেক কিংবা আমাদের একার সাধ্য না থাকায় আমরা কিছুই করতে পারি না। কিন্তু আমরা সবাই যদি এগিয়ে আসি হয়ত কিছু একটা করা অসম্ভব বলে মনে হবে না। হয়ত তেমন কিছুই করতো পারবো না আমরা কিন্তু আসুন অন্তত্ব এই দুঃখী মানুষগুলো পাশে দাড়াই।এদের কে জানান দেই এরাও মানুষ।এদের ও আছে আমাদের মতো একটু আরাম-আয়েশ,দুবেলা ভাত আর স্বপ্ন দেখার অধিকার।
