Building stronger systems for Responsible Business Conduct requires more than compliance, it requires shared vision, strategic thinking, and institutional capacity.

Over the past three days (4th May to 6th May, 2026) , Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF) organized an intensive Staff Capacity Building Workshop on Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) and Strategic Roadmap Development at Manikganj with the support of Mondiaal FNV.

The workshop brought together participants from Bangladesh Labour Foundation (BLF), Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies-BILS, and Awaj Foundation to strengthen collective understanding of HRDD, responsible supply chains, worker rights, and long-term organizational strategy.

Throughout the sessions, participants engaged in:
• In-depth discussions on HRDD frameworks and evolving global regulations.
• Supply chain risk identification and stakeholder mapping exercises.
• Strategic planning sessions to align organizational priorities with workers’ rights and just transition principles.
• Interactive group works on remedy mechanisms, prevention strategies, and accountability systems.
• Reflection on Bangladesh’s labour realities within the context of climate vulnerability, informal work, and global sourcing practices.

What made the workshop especially valuable was the collaborative learning environment. Representatives from different organizations shared field experiences, practical challenges, and innovative approaches to advancing labour rights in Bangladesh.

As global expectations around business and human rights continue to evolve, strengthening institutional readiness and cross-organizational collaboration has become increasingly important.

This workshop helps to build technical understanding and a shared commitment toward dignified work, ethical supply chains, and sustainable transition pathways.

✊ May Day 2026 | Celebration in Keraniganj with Informal RMG Workers

On this May Day, Bangladesh Labour Foundation - BLF, with the support of Mondiaal FNV versterkt werknemers wereldwijd, stood in solidarity with informal RMG workers in Keraniganj—one of the most critical yet often invisible hubs of Bangladesh’s garment supply chain.

Workers from small workshops, home-based units, and subcontracting tiers came together to celebrate their strength and raise their voices for fair wages, safe working conditions, and recognition of their rights. The programme also highlighted the urgent need to address child labour, which continues to persist in hidden parts of the supply chain due to poverty, lack of regulation, and limited access to education.

This May Day serves as a reminder that a truly sustainable and responsible supply chain must be worker-centred and inclusive, ensuring dignity, protection, and opportunities for all.

No worker should be invisible. No child should be left behind. ✊

✊ May Day 2026 | From Bangladesh to the World: Celebrating Workers’ Strength and Dignity

On the occasion of International Labour Day 2026, Bangladesh Labour Foundation - BLF, with the support of Mondiaal FNV versterkt werknemers wereldwijdi, stood in solidarity with Ready-Made Garment (RMG) workers and supply chain workers through a rally and programme in Dhaka.

From factory floors to subcontracting units and informal workplaces, workers across the supply chain came together to raise a unified voice. While Bangladesh’s RMG sector continues to power global markets, many workers, especially in lower tiers, still face low wages, unsafe conditions, and limited protection.

This May Day, workers called for fair and living wages, safe and healthy workplaces, freedom of association, and stronger accountability through Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) across global supply chains.

BLF remains committed to advancing worker-driven due diligence and inclusive labour governance—ensuring dignity, rights, and justice for all workers.

A just future of work must be worker-centred—across every link of the supply chain. ✊
