International Aurora Research Challenge 2025 Successfully Concludes with Global Participation
The 1st International Aurora Research Challenge (IARC) 2025, a flagship initiative of Orion Hatch, was successfully held online in 2025, marking a significant milestone in youth-led academic research engagement. The international competition brought together over 200 emerging researchers from Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Australia, fostering cross-border scholarly collaboration and research-driven learning.
Organized by Orion Hatch, a youth-led nonprofit research organization, the event aimed to empower secondary and undergraduate-level students by equipping them with foundational research skills, including proposal writing, academic presentation, and oral defense. The challenge was conducted in formal organizational partnership with IEEE Student Branch CUET, strengthening its academic credibility and institutional alignment.
The event received generous support from Stride Z as the Gold Sponsor, Silvane as the Silver Sponsor, and Kytalist as the Media Partner. Collaborative outreach and promotional support were provided by IEEE Student Branch CUET, Structural Engineering Club (UAP), Horizon Civil Engineers Forum (BEC), and BioDams.
IARC 2025 was structured into three competitive rounds. In the first round, participants submitted detailed research proposals, followed by a research presentation submission in the second round. Selected participants advanced to the final stage, an online viva session, where they defended their research concepts before evaluators. In addition to the competition, participants were offered academic guidance sessions on research methodology and presentation development, with curated learning resources made available through the event portfolio, YouTube channel, and Google Classroom.
The competition covered diverse research domains, including Natural and Modern Sciences and Social Sciences, and featured both Junior and Senior participant categories. Outstanding performances were recognized through Gold, Silver, and Bronze Honour Certificates, highlighting academic excellence and research merit.
Beyond awards, the International Aurora Research Challenge 2025 played a vital role in enhancing participantsโ analytical thinking, academic writing proficiency, research confidence, and professional communication skills. The initiative also opened pathways toward higher education opportunities, independent research initiatives, international academic networking, and leadership development within scholarly communities.
With strong international participation and growing media attention, IARC 2025 has established itself as a promising global platform for nurturing young researchers and promoting a sustainable, inclusive research culture led by youth.
