Dr Mohidus Samad Khan, Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET, and Senior Fellow of ESTex, delivered a keynote presentation on “Alliance for Water Reuse and Recycle (A4R): White Paper and Case Studies” at the Workshop on Water Reuse in the Leather Sector of Bangladesh.

Organised by the 2030 Water Resources Group (WRG) of the World Bank, the workshop was held at the Conference Room of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), Tannery Industrial Estate in Savar, Dhaka.

In his keynote address, Professor Khan discussed the current landscape of water use in Bangladesh, key sectors of water consumption, industrial pollution loads, and emerging global initiatives for cross-sectoral water reuse.

Stakeholders, including industry owners, leather and tannery association members, government officials, and development sector professionals joined the workshop.

Dr Mohidus Samad Khan, Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, BUET, and Senior Fellow of ESTex, delivered a keynote presentation on Water Reuse Overview: White Paper and Case Studies at the Workshop on Water Reuse in the Textile and Leather Sector of Bangladesh.

Organised by the 2030 Water Resources Group of the World Bank, the workshop took place at the Jamuna Conference Room of the World Bank.

In his presentation, Prof. Khan discussed Bangladesh’s current water usage scenario, key sectors of water consumption, industrial pollution load, and global initiatives for cross-sectoral water reuse. Through case studies, he highlighted the technical, institutional, economic, and social challenges, along with the potential of water reuse in the country.
