Youth Leading Climate Action (YLCA) is proud to officially announce our partnership with LCOY Bangladesh 2026!

As part of this critical journey toward Building Bangladesh’s Country Youth Position, YLCA is collaborating closely to amplify youth voices, drive grassroots climate priorities, and contribute to policy-focused dialogues that shape national and global climate agendas. Through this partnership, we are committed to strengthening youth capacity, fostering impactful discourse, and ensuring that grassroots realities are central to the youth mandate for COP.

LCOY Bangladesh 2026 is hosted by Brighters Youth Network and organized as a project of YOUNGO (Official Youth Constituency of the UNFCCC).

🤝 Powering Youth-Led Climate Action & Green Innovation:

SHISUK Signs Strategic MoA with Brighters FoundationOn August 17, 2026, Shikkha Shastha Unnayan Karzakram (SHISUK), alongside its youth wing Youth Leading Climate Action (YLCA), officially entered into a three-year strategic partnership (2026–2029) with Brighters Foundation.

The Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed in Dhaka by Sakiul Millat Morshed, Executive Director of SHISUK, and Saidur Rahman Siam, Founder of Brighters Foundation, in the presence of Tipu Sultan (Senior Program Officer, SHISUK) and Fariha Aumi (Chair, Brighters).

Through this alliance, SHISUK and Brighters Foundation are uniting three decades of grassroots community enterprise and agroecological research with dynamic youth organizing, digital campaigning, and volunteer networks.

Key pillars of the collaboration include:
🌱 Agroecology & Safe Food Movements: Mobilizing urban and rural youth to champion ecological farming, bio-inputs, and community enterprise models.
💡 Green Entrepreneurship & Innovation: Launching bootcamps, symposiums, and pitch sessions that connect emerging eco-innovators with sustainable business tools, mentorship, and green financing.
📢 Civic Engagement & Public Campaigns: Hosting policy roundtables, environmental runs, youth dialogues, and digital forums, including the Tarunner Kotha series.
🏛️ National Youth Coalitions: Fostering regional and university-level leadership networks, including the National Coalition of Youth Leaders for Climate Action (NCYLCA), to sustain an active pipeline of environmental leaders.

By bridging field-tested ecological solutions with grassroots youth power, SHISUK, YLCA, and Brighters Foundation are setting a collaborative benchmark for youth-led environmental stewardship and climate justice in Bangladesh.

Youth Leading Climate Action has been placed in the Water for Prosperity subcommittee (Interactive Dialogue B) of the Youth Organizing Committee under UN MGCY and the Global Youth Movement for Water — part of the youth process ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference in Abu Dhabi.

Water for Prosperity covers exactly where our work already sits: agroecology, food security, and climate-resilient livelihoods. This gives Bangladesh's youth a direct channel into that conversation.

সার্ক এগ্রিকালচার সেন্টার (SAC) প্রতিনিধিদলের শিসউক পরিদর্শন: প্লাবনভূমি মৎস্যচাষ ও টেকসই কৃষির অভিজ্ঞতা বিনিময়

সার্ক এগ্রিকালচার সেন্টার (SAC)-এর একটি উচ্চপর্যায়ের প্রতিনিধিদল ২১ আগস্ট ২০২৬ (শুক্রবার) কুমিল্লার দাউদকান্দিতে শিসউক (শিক্ষা স্বাস্থ্য উন্নয়ন কার্যক্রম)-এর মাঠপর্যায়ের কার্যক্রম পরিদর্শন করেন।

১৯৯৭ সালে শিসউক উদ্ভাবিত জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিকভাবে প্রশংসিত 'দাউদকান্দি মডেল'—যা মৌসুমী প্লাবনভূমিকে স্থানীয় জনগোষ্ঠীর যৌথ ব্যবস্থাপনায় উৎপাদনশীল মৎস্যচাষে রূপান্তর করেছে—তা সরজমিনে পর্যবেক্ষণ করেন প্রতিনিধিদল। পাশাপাশি স্থানীয় নারীদের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণে বিষমুক্ত বসতবাড়ি বাগান, দেশীয় বীজ সংরক্ষণ, জৈব কৃষি এবং জলবায়ু-সহনশীল টেকসই কৃষি কার্যক্রম ঘুরে দেখেন।

পরিদর্শনকালে শিসউকের নির্বাহী পরিচালক জনাব সাকিল মিল্লাত মোর্শেদের নেতৃত্বে শিসউকের কমিউনিটি প্রশিক্ষণ, জনস্বাস্থ্য উদ্যোগ এবং টেকসই কৃষি ও গ্রামীণ উন্নয়নে পারস্পরিক জ্ঞান বিনিময় ও যৌথ সহযোগিতার সম্ভাবনা নিয়ে ফলপ্রসূ আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

This International Youth Day, Youth Leading Climate Action (YLCA) showcases the practical impact of youth mobilization in sustainable agriculture.

In the featured video, "YLCA International Youth Day.mp4", Mansura Akter, an 11th-grade student, shares her transition from relying on chemically treated market vegetables to establishing a sustainable, organic home garden. After receiving training from YLCA, Mansura applied practical agroecological methods in her community:

Bio-Pesticide Application: Utilizing boiled neem leaves to replace toxic chemical pesticides and protect crops from insect attacks.

Soil Health Management: Applying vermicompost and organic fertilizers to increase crop yield without degrading the soil.

Seed Preservation: Independently storing indigenous seeds in earthen pots, ensuring self-sufficiency and eliminating the need to purchase commercial seeds for future planting cycles.

Mansura’s initiative has not only secured healthy, chemical-free food for her family and reduced household expenses, but it has also inspired neighboring households to adopt similar community-led farming practices. Her work demonstrates that youth engagement in agriculture is a direct strategy for protecting public health and environmental integrity.
