Dhaka Dark Night Marathon

All amateur and professional runners committed to tiger conservation and restoration in the Sundarbans are welcome to join the Tiger Run Dhaka at Hatirjheel on July 2026, the occasion of World Tiger Day. Men's and women's distances are 21.1 km, 15 km, 10 km, 7.5 km, and 2 km for tiger kids. The main objectives of the Tiger Run event are to lessen human-tiger conflict and increase awareness of tiger protection. The Bengal Tiger, a representation of supreme bravery and agility, is the national symbol of Bangladesh. A certificate and participant's medal will be given to each person who finishes the Tiger Run Dhaka 2026; Prize money will be awarded to the champion, first runner-up, and second runner-up.

At midnight on March 25, 1971, "Operation Searchlight," a horrific event that tested the spirit of Bangladeshi freedom, got underway in Dhaka. Today, March 25, is officially recognized as Genocide Day. Since 2021, we have held the Dhaka Dark Night Marathon under the theme "First Resistance for Freedom" in remembrance of the liberation war martyrs and to inspire the next generation to learn the struggle for Independent Bangladesh. The 19.71-kilometer symbolic night run begins at 11:30 PM on March 25 and ends at daybreak on March 26.

১৯৭১ সালের ২৫শে মার্চ মধ্যরাতে, "অপারেশন সার্চলাইট" নামে একটি ভয়াবহ ঘটনা ঢাকায় শুরু হয়, যা বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতার চেতনার পরীক্ষা নিয়েছিল। আজ, ২৫শে মার্চ, আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে গণহত্যা দিবস হিসেবে স্বীকৃত। ২০২১ সাল থেকে, আমরা মুক্তিযুদ্ধের শহীদদের স্মরণে এবং পরবর্তী প্রজন্মকে স্বাধীন বাংলাদেশের সংগ্রাম সম্পর্কে জানতে অনুপ্রাণিত করার জন্য "স্বাধীনতার জন্য প্রথম প্রতিরোধ" থিমের অধীনে ঢাকা ডার্ক নাইট ম্যারাথন আয়োজন করে আসছি। ১৯.৭১ কিলোমিটার দীর্ঘ প্রতীকী রাত্রিকালীন দৌড় ২৫শে মার্চ রাত ১১:৩০ টায় শুরু হবে এবং ২৬শে মার্চ ভোরবেলা শেষ।
