𝗕𝗘𝗭𝗜𝗔 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗨𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

The Bangladesh Economic Zones Investors’ Association (BEZIA) successfully held its 4th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Gulshan Club, Dhaka, on 5 September 2026, bringing together prominent industrial leaders and business dignitaries.

Chaired by Mr. Md. Abdul Jabbar, President of BEZIA, the meeting reviewed the Association’s activities and key challenges facing investors. The members emphasized the importance of policy stability, long-term land leases, power & gas, industrial water and an investor-friendly environment to accelerate industrial growth and investment.

The AGM was attended by prominent business leaders and BEZIA members, including Mr. Matiur Rahman, Mr. Sharif Zahir, Mr. Md. Halimuzzaman, Mr. A. Mannan Khan, Mr. Humayun Rashid, Mr. Delwar H. Titu, Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, Engr. Sayeed Ahmed, Mr. Asif Iqbal Mahmud, Mr. Mijanur Rahman, Mr. Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Mr. Syed Nabiur Rahman, Mr. S. M. Jahangir Alam Manik, Mr. Mahabubur Rahman, Mr. Shamim Rahman, and Mr. Md. Mahfujur Rahman, among other distinguished industry representatives.

BEZIA remains committed to working closely with government and industry stakeholders to address investors’ challenges and contribute to building a stronger, more competitive industrial ecosystem in Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Economic Zones Investors Association (BEZIA) and the Private Economic Zones Association of Bangladesh (PEZAB) jointly organized a forum meeting in Dhaka on August 22, 2026.

The meeting focused on improving the investment environment within economic zones, resolving various investor issues and policy bottlenecks, strengthening public-private coordination, and determining actionable steps to attract domestic and foreign investment.

Both organizations reiterated their commitment to working jointly as an integrated platform to expand industrialization and investment based on economic zones in Bangladesh.

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗵

On 10 August 2026, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Investors Association (BEZIA) sat down with the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at the BGMEA Complex, Uttara with one shared mission: to accelerate investment and clear the infrastructural and policy hurdles facing our economic zones.

Led by BEZIA President M. A. Jabbar and BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, the meeting turned a shared concern into a shared agenda. Across nearly 39,000 acres of allocated land, only 27 enterprises are in production today; a gap both organizations are determined to close.

Together, we agreed to jointly advocate for:
• Uninterrupted gas and industrial water supply
• Fair, timely utility charges and cash-incentive parity
• An end to double taxation on lease tariffs
• Bankable 99-year leases and a truly effective One-Stop Service

In a landmark move, BEZIA welcomed a BGMEA representative onto its Board of Directors, turning collaboration into commitment.
