In this inspiring talk, Mr. Rahman will share insights from his remarkable 30-year engineering journey across Energizer Power Systems, Intel, and Apple, exploring how the same principles that drive high-speed digital design also apply to innovation, leadership, and personal growth.

The session will uncover how timing models evolve from transistor-level physics to system-level abstractions, and how understanding this hierarchy shapes reliable, high-performance chip design.
Participants will also hear unique stories of engineering culture, mentorship, and teamwork from three of the world’s most innovative companies.

🔹 About the Speaker:
Syed Moshiur Rahman is currently serving as Implementation Manager at Apple, leading GPU core design teams focused on high-performance and power-efficient processors.
He previously worked at Intel Corporation for over 17 years, where he played key roles in developing Xeon Phi Multi-Core Processors and Ultra-Low Power Core Designs.
A former lecturer at BUET, Mr. Rahman holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from BUET and completed graduate studies in Digital Signal Processing and VLSI Design at the University of Florida.
He also holds multiple U.S. patents in smart battery technologies.

The IEEE ComSoc UIU Student Branch Chapter, with the support of IEEE ComSoc Bangladesh Chapter, is organizing an online seminar titled “RF Engineering Basics”. This webiner is designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of Radio Frequency (RF) Engineering, an essential domain in modern communication systems.

🔹 Abstract:
The session will introduce participants to the core concepts, terminology, and operating parameters of RF Engineering. Practical examples and systems will be explored to demonstrate real-world design and applications. Additionally, the seminar will cover current trends in transmitter and receiver system architecture, with a particular focus on High Speed Analog-to-Digital Converters (HSADC) and their role in RF and microwave systems.

🔹 Speaker’s Bio:
Mohammed Sarwar Hossain completed his BSc. in EEE from BUET in 1997 and his MSc. in EEE from Pennsylvania State University in 2000. He began his career as an RF Hardware Engineer at Hughes Network Systems, USA, and later served as an Assistant Professor at United International University (2009–2019). Currently, he works as a Staff Applications Engineer at Analog Devices in the High-Speed Data Converter Group, specializing in RF and microwave circuit/system analysis, EM simulation, and customer support for data converters.
