Since 1998, iEARN has pioneered in building bridges between schools online and enable students to engage in meaningful educational projects with peers located globally. iEARN is:
-A safe and structured environment in which students and teachers can communicate with each other.
-A community of educators and learners.
-A hub for known audience who write and read with a purpose.
-An opportunity to apply knowledge in service-learning projects.
-An inclusive and culturally diverse community. After joining, teachers and students enter an active online forum-environment to meet other members and get involved with ongoing projects –initiated by peers throughout the world. The members can also launch unique projects, meeting the needs of their own communities. In addition to meeting a particular curriculum or subject area need, every project proposed in iEARN has to answer the question, ‘how will this project affect the quality of life on the planet?’ That vision and purpose are the glue that holds iEARN together. Through participation in iEARN projects, students develop the habit of working collaboratively.
