61st Meeting of the Board of Directors & 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI):
The 61st Meeting of the Board of Directors & 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of BFTI for the FY 2024-2025 were Held on 21st December 2025 at the BFTI Conference Room. Mr. Sk. Bashir Uddin, Honorable Adviser, Ministry of Commerce, and Chairman, Board of Directors (BoD), BFTI presided over the meetings. Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Vice Chairman, BoD, BFTI, President, ICCB, Vice Chairman, BoD, BFTI and Administrator, FBCCI, Vice-Chairman, BoD, BFTI were present at the meeting. Among the other members of the Board of Directors, Secretary of Finance Division, Secretary of ERD, Secretary of Ministry of Industries, Rector of Foreign Service Academy, Vice-Chairman of EPB, Chairman (Additional Charge) of BTTC, Administrator of CCCI, President of BCI, and President of DCCI were present at the meeting. In the AGM, Dr. Saif Uddin Ahammad, Member-Secretary, BoD and CEO (Additional Charge), BFTI presented the Audited Accounts and Annual Report of the Board of Directors for the FY 2024-25. The AGM received, considered and adopted the Audited Accounts and Annual Report of the Board of Directors for the FY 2024-25 and also approved the re-appointment of Arun & Company, Chartered Accountants as auditor for conducting Audit of the Financial Statements of BFTI for next FY 2025-26.

An MoU was signed between Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute and International Institute for Trade and Development (ITD) on 30 October, 2025. The objective of signing this MoU is to strengthen collaboration in research, training and academic exchange to enhance trade and investment between the two countries.

BFTI Launches Supply Chain Management Training (BNQF LEVEL-4) under NSDA
Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI) has organised a 3-day long Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) training programme on Supply Chain Management (BNQF LEVEL-4) at the BFTI Academic Block, TCB Bhaban, Karwan Bazar, Dhaka. The objective of the course is to disseminate knowledge of Supply Chain Management to the individuals engaged in international trade. The training was held between 13 May 2025 to 15 May 2025. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Md. Abdur Razzak (Additional Secretary), Chief Executive Officer (Additional Charge), Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute (BFTI). Mr. Ahsanul Islam, Joint Director, BFTI has delivered the welcome remark to the participant of the training program

The CEO of BFTI mentioned that, BFTI received has approval from the National Skill Development Authority (NSDA) on April 18, 2024, to operate a Course Accreditation and Assessment Center as a Skill Training Provider (STP) in Supply Chain Management. Researches showed that a 5% reduction in supply chain costs can double net profit, and merely 1% improvement in raw material inventory management can increase a company's profits by up to 9.35%. He also mentioned that, through the training, the participants will gain a clear comprehension about supply chain management framework, procurement processes, Incoterms, import-export operations, customs clearance, inventory and warehouse management, and distribution management at local and global level.

The training was conducted by renowned supply chain professionals of Bangladeshi Conglomerates and Multi-National Corporations. A total of Sixteen (16) participants (50% Public Sector and 50% private sector) joined the training.

BFTI organized a 3-day training program on the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and Bangladesh for National Enquiry Points/Focal Persons from 27-29 January 2025 at BFTI, Dhaka. The program, initiated by the Bangladesh Regional Connectivity Project-1 (BRCP-1), Ministry of Commerce, was inaugurated by key officials, including Chief Guest Dr. Nazneen Kawshar Chowdhury, Additional Secretary, WTO Wing, Ministry of Commerce.
A total of 25 participants from various government and private sector organizations attended the training. The program concluded with a certificate awarding session, where Mr. Mohammad Navid Safiullah, CEO (Additional Charge), BFTI, handed over certificates to the participants.
