ক্যাপাসিটি ডেভেলপমেন্ট প্রোগ্রাম (সিডিপি-আইএলও) প্রকল্প থেকে “প্যারালিগ্যাল প্রশিক্ষণ ফলো-আপ/রিফ্রেশার্স সেশন (ফিডব্যাক/ স্কিল বিল্ডিং/ মেন্টরিং)” গত ১৮-১৯ মে ২০২৬ তারিখ ওয়ার্কারস রিসোর্স সেন্টার (ডব্লিউআরসি) এর আয়োজনে মেরিনো হোটেল, উত্তরা, ঢাকায় অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সেশনটিতে ডব্লিউআরসি থেকে ২৮ জন প্যারালিগ্যাল অংশগ্রহণ করেন যারা ইতিপূর্বে প্যারালিগ্যাল প্রশিক্ষণ গ্রহণ করেছেন। এই সেশনের মূল লক্ষ্য হলো- প্যারালিগ্যাল প্রশিক্ষণ থেকে অর্জিত শিখন মূল্যায়ন এবং চাহিদাভিত্তিক বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে মেন্টরিং সহায়তা প্রদানের মাধ্যমে প্যারালিগ্যাল কার্যক্রমকে আরো গতিশীল করা।

বৈষম্যবিরোধী আইন প্রণয়নে অগ্রগতি, ২০২২ সালের প্রস্তাবিত খসড়া বিলের বর্তমান অবস্থা এবং ভবিষ্যৎ করণীয় নিয়ে আলোচনা জন্য ১৩ মে ২০২৬, ব্লাস্টের সভাকক্ষে “বৈষম্য বিরোধী আইন প্রণয়ন: আইনি প্রেক্ষাপট ও বর্তমান বাস্তবতা” শীর্ষক মতবিনিময় সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।

সভায় আইনজীবী, গবেষক এবং ব্লাস্টের কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ অংশগ্রহণ করেন। আলোচনায় একটি কার্যকর ও অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক বৈষম্যবিরোধী আইন প্রণয়নের প্রয়োজনীয়তা, বিদ্যমান আইনি সীমাবদ্ধতা এবং ভবিষ্যৎ অ্যাডভোকেসি কৌশল নিয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা হয়।

To review the progress of enactment of anti-discrimination law, the current status of the proposed 2022 draft bill, and the way forward, BLAST organised a discussion meeting titled “বৈষম্য বিরোধী আইন প্রণয়ন: আইনি প্রেক্ষাপট ও বর্তমান বাস্তবতা” on 13 May 2026, at the BLAST conference room.

Lawyers, researchers, and BLAST officials attended the meeting. The discussion focused on the necessity of a comprehensive and effective anti-discrimination law, the existing legal gaps, and possible advocacy strategies to advance the enactment process.

ব্লাস্ট কর্মীদের জন্য একটি “জাস্ট ট্রানজিশন ধারণা বিষয়ক ওরিয়েন্টেশন” গত ১০ মে ২০২৬ তারিখে সায়ন্তন সুপ্রিয়া নিকেতন, গাজীপুরে ব্লাস্ট এর ওয়্যারস-৩ (ওয়ার্কারস এমপাওয়ারমেন্ট এন্ড অ্যাডভোকেসী ইন দি আরএমজি সেক্টর) প্রকল্পের আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ওরিয়েন্টেশনটিতে ব্লাস্ট এর ইকোনমিক জাস্টিস ক্লাস্টার এর বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প থেকে মোট ১৮ জন কর্মী অংশগ্রহণ করেন। এই ওরিয়েন্টেশনের উদ্দেশ্য ছিলো কর্মীদের মধ্যে জাস্ট ট্রানজিশন বিষয়টি সম্পর্কে স্পষ্ট ধারণা তৈরী করা, যা ভবিষ্যতে শ্রমিক অধিকার ও ন্যায়সঙ্গত রুপান্তর কার্যক্রমে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।

ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন সদস্যদের জন্য একটি “নেতৃত্ব ও সমঝোতা দক্ষতা উন্নয়ন বিষয়ক রিফ্রেশার্স প্রশিক্ষণ ” গত ৮-৯ মে ২০২৬ তারিখে সিসিডিবি হোপ ফাউন্ডেশন, সাভারে ব্লাস্ট এর ওয়্যারস-৩ (ওয়ার্কারস এমপাওয়ারমেন্ট এন্ড অ্যাডভোকেসী ইন দি আরএমজি সেক্টর) প্রকল্পের আয়োজনে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। প্রশিক্ষণটিতে ঢাকা, আশুলিয়া, গাজীপুর ও চট্টগ্রাম প্রকল্প এলাকা থেকে মোট ২৫ জন ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন সদস্য অংশগ্রহণ করেন। এই প্রশিক্ষণটির মূল লক্ষ্য হলো নেতৃত্ব ও সমঝোতা দক্ষতা উন্নয়নের মাধ্যমে শ্রমিকদের অধিকার আদায়ে তৈরী পোশাক শিল্পের ট্রেড ইউনিয়ন সদস্যদের কার্যকর ও ফলপ্রসূ ভূমিকা পালন করতে সক্ষম করে তোলা।

The piece highlights that survivors of the July–August 2024 violence are seeking far more than compensation alone. Survivors and caregivers repeatedly pointed to the need for rehabilitation, dignity, psychosocial support, access to education and employment, and long-term structural reform to meaningfully address the harms caused by state violence and torture.

This briefing examines Bangladesh’s existing reparation framework for survivors of torture and ill‑treatment, identifying major shortcomings when measured against international standards. On 3 May 2026, the Nagorikata: Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) organized the “Nagorikata Thematic Collaboration & Networking Event” at Pan Pacific Sonargaon, Dhaka.

The event brought together around 370 participants, including CEF Strategic Partners (SPs), grantees, sub-grantees, donor agencies, consortium partners, and key stakeholders to connect, exchange ideas, and strengthen collaboration for impactful civic engagement.

Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) as strategic partner contributed to the event, with its representative delivering remarks in a panel discussion, sharing insights on rights-based approaches and collaborative advocacy.

In the closing session, Sara Hossain, Honorary Executive Director of BLAST, shared her reflections, emphasizing the importance of collective action, accountability, and sustained engagement to advance justice and human rights in Bangladesh.
