July 1, 1921.
The day when a university established against the answer to a people who were told they didn't deserve knowledge, spaces or voice.
Decades passed. A new nation was born, through all of it, the university kept raising people who knew how to raise their voice for themselves,for the betterment of the people whenever there arose any movement, liberation struggles, every turning point this nation ever faced. It has produced scholars, entrepreneurs, policymakers, artists and changemakers who continue to contribute far beyond its campus.
Like every great institution, the University of Dhaka also faces challenges today. From infrastructure and student facilities to the demands of a rapidly changing world, there is still much room to grow. Loving an institution also means believing it can become better and every student carries that hope.
On its 105th Establishment Day, we celebrate not perfection but a legacy of resilience, excellence and the unwavering pursuit of knowledge. Here's to preserving its proud heritage while striving for the future it truly deserves.
