১৯১৭ সালে প্রকাশিত Bengal District Gazetteers: Mymensingh-এফ. এ. স্যাকসি (F. A. Sachse) ১৫৬ নম্বর পৃষ্ঠায় উল্লেখ করেন যে: “Of Jugal Kishor Roy Chowdhury, the founder of the Gouripur Family, Mr. Wroughton wrote thus in his report of 1788.” এই উদ্ধৃতি থেকে স্পষ্ট হয় যে, ১৭৮৮ সালের প্রশাসনিক প্রতিবেদনে যুগল কিশোর রায় চৌধুরীকে গৌরীপুর পরিবারের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি দেওয়া হয়েছিল।
