Where do we go when our heart feels heavy and we crave comfort after a long tiring day?
The answer is always our mother. From our childhood tantrums to adulthood distresses, they are there to sort them all. They sacrifice their lives, careers, dreams and even their health to give us comfort and make our lives easier. In return, they ask for nothing. Mother’s Day is a reminder of the countless unseen sacrifices mothers make every day and the warmth they bring into our lives through the smallest acts of care. ❤️💐🌸

The award-giving ceremony of the Bangladesh Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWPBD) 2026 was successfully held on May 5, 2026, at Conventina Lake Suites, Gulshan, Dhaka, bringing together young innovators, distinguished guests, academics, development professionals, and stakeholders from across the country.

We are proud to announce that 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝘇-𝗢-𝗦𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, represented by 𝗙𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗺𝘂𝗱 of Dhaka Residential Model College and 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗳 𝗔𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗱𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘆 of Dhaka College, emerged as the Champion of SJWPBD 2026 and will represent Bangladesh at the international stage in Sweden. ✨

Their groundbreaking project introduced a nature-based, zero-waste, circular economy invisible infrastructure designed to transform soil into a self-regulating water-retention system. By stimulating soil microbes to form protective biofilms, the innovation aims to enhance soil moisture retention and support vulnerable farming communities facing water challenges.

The ceremony was graced by 𝗛.𝗘. 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀, Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh, as the Chief Guest, alongside 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻, Country Director of WaterAid Bangladesh, as the Special Guest. The program was hosted by Safwat Ishrak and Mahadia Mutmainna Binte Ahmed.

This year marked the 12th season of SJWPBD, with participants aged 15–20 from across Bangladesh submitting 53 research papers. Following a rigorous and transparent evaluation process, six finalist teams advanced to the national round held at the Institute of Appropriate Technology (IAT), BUET.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all finalist teams — Team Inonova, Team Rizz-O-Sphere, Team Epsilon, Team The Salting Out, Team FAUJIAN, and Team Captain Obvious — for their exceptional research, innovation, and dedication toward solving pressing water-related challenges.

The competition was evaluated by an esteemed jury panel consisting of experts from BUET, UNICEF Bangladesh, DPHE, North South University, the Embassy of Sweden, and other renowned institutions.

SJWPBD 2026 was successfully organized by the House of Volunteers Foundation, Bangladesh, nominated by the International Water Institute. WaterAid Bangladesh joined as Associate Organizer, while ITN-BUET, EsTEX, and The Business Standard served as Strategic, Technical, and Media Partners respectively.

Art has the power to express ideas beyond words and convey meaningful messages through creativity. Observed as part of the “World Water Day Observance Program 2025”, the painting competition encouraged young minds to interpret environmental concerns through art. Participants illustrated the theme “Save our Rivers: Build a Clean and Green Future,” reflecting the importance of river conservation, pollution reduction and the protection of our water bodies for a better and greener future🌱. Happy World Health Day 2026! 🌍💚

Health is not something we achieve alone. It grows through shared knowledge, collective care, and the choices we make for ourselves and each other every day.

Marked globally by the World Health Organization, this year’s theme, “Together for health. Stand with science.”, reminds us that building a healthier world depends on trust in science, open conversations, and communities that support one another. At the House of Volunteers Foundation, we carry this belief into action.🩺🔬

Through our Menstrual Health Management (MHM) initiatives, we use evidence-based knowledge to break harmful myths and ensure access to safe menstrual care. By creating safe spaces for learning and providing essential resources, we help girls take control of their health with confidence and dignity. 🌸

Through GRACE, our mental health initiative, we work to promote emotional well-being by creating safe spaces for dialogue, encouraging people to seek support, and reducing the stigma around mental health. By normalizing these conversations, we aim to make care more accessible and inclusive for all. 🧠💬

Because when we stand with science and stand with each other, we create a future where health is informed, inclusive, and within reach for all.

House of Volunteers Foundation Bangladesh (HOV) is actively looking for a sincere and enthusiastic candidate to fill the position of Executive Officer.

The core responsibilities of the Executive Officer (EO) are:
- Keeping communication within the organisation smooth and inclusive, and maintaining our communication with different stakeholders.
- Playing the central role in developing, managing and updating important documents related to HOV’s regular projects and activities.
- Steering the financial and administrative activities of HOV by keeping appropriate communication with relevant financial organisations, auditors and other stakeholders.
- Leading and organizing student volunteers to ensure their spontaneous and efficient participation in all HOV projects and programmes.
- Bridging any gap that exists or appears in future between HOV EC and student volunteers of different chapters.

The EO is thus expected to:
- Report to HOV EC, under the guidance and direct supervision of the Executive Director (ED),
- Supervise and create accountability over student volunteers of all active chapters,
- Be responsible for managing and reporting all financial transactions,
- Meet deadlines for important documentation and communication tasks.

Reuirements:
- Graduated from any reputed University (Hons.)
- Good command over English and Bengali
- Skills and experience of using basic tools for writing, photo editing, image generating etc.
- Good communication skills, ability to work with small and large teams.

Working hours: Full time, Flexible hours
Job type: Hybrid (requires presence in Dhaka)
Salary: Negotiable
