Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh-এর সহায়তায় পরিচালিত দেশের ১৮টি কর্ম এলাকায় ২.২০ লক্ষ বনজ, ফলজ, ঔষধি ও ম্যানগ্রোভ গাছ রোপণ করবে। এই উদ্যোগ পরিবেশ পুনরুদ্ধার, জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণ এবং জলবায়ু সহনশীলতা বৃদ্ধিতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে।

Helvetas Bangladesh is proud to be a consortium partner of the and to contribute to Bangladesh’s five-year national campaign to plant 250 million trees.

This national initiative is a significant step towards building a greener and more sustainable Bangladesh by addressing the impacts of climate change, conserving biodiversity, and restoring ecosystems.

Supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh, the will plant 220,000 timber, fruit-bearing, medicinal, and mangrove trees across its 18 working areas. This initiative will play an important role in ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, and strengthening climate resilience.

🌳🤝এই কর্মসূচি সঙ্গে সংহতি প্রকাশ করে Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh-supported তার ১৮টি কর্ম এলাকায় ২.২০ লক্ষ বনজ, ফলজ, ঔষধি ও ম্যানগ্রোভ গাছ রোপণে করবে। এটি শুধু বৃক্ষরোপণ নয়; বরং পরিবেশ পুনরুদ্ধার, জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণ এবং জলবায়ু সহনশীলতা গড়ে তোলার একটি দীর্ঘমেয়াদি উদ্যোগ।

💚 সময়ের সাথে সাথে এসব গাছ পরিপক্বতায় পৌঁছালে প্রতিবছর আনুমানিক ৬,৭০০ মেট্রিক টন কার্বন ডাই-অক্সাইড শোষণ করবে এবং ৪,৮০০ মেট্রিক টন অক্সিজেন নিঃসরণ করবে। ফলশ্রুতিতে, এই সবুজ উদ্যোগ বাতাসের মান উন্নয়নে সহায়তা করবে, জলবায়ুজনিত দুর্যোগের বিরুদ্ধে প্রাকৃতিক সুরক্ষা বলয় শক্তিশালী করবে এবং বাংলাদেশের দীর্ঘমেয়াদি জলবায়ু অভিযোজন ও টেকসই উন্নয়ন লক্ষ্যমাত্রা অর্জনে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান রাখবে।

হেলভেটাস সদর দপ্তরের হিউম্যানিটারিয়ান রেসপন্স টিম লিডার কক্সবাজারে নারী শক্তি, সমাজ শক্তি প্রকল্প পরিদর্শন

সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে সুইজারল্যান্ডে অবস্থিত হেলভেটাস সদর দপ্তরের হিউম্যানিটারিয়ান রেসপন্স টিম লিডার মি. ক্রিশ্চিয়ান ফেলিক্স গেমপারলি কক্সবাজারে নারী শক্তি, সমাজ শক্তি (NSSS) প্রকল্প পরিদর্শন করেন, যা হেলভেটাসের সহযোগিতায় স্থানীয় অংশীদার সংস্থা ইকো-সোশ্যাল ডেভেলপমেন্ট অর্গানাইজেশন (ইএসডিও) এবং উত্তরণ বাস্তবায়ন করছে। পরিদর্শনকালে তিনি হোস্ট কমিউনিটি এবং রোহিঙ্গা শরণার্থী ক্যাম্প উভয় এলাকায় নারী উদ্যোক্তা, যুব দল, চেঞ্জ চ্যাম্পিয়ন, স্থানীয় পরিষেবা প্রদানকারী (LSP) এবং প্রকল্পের অংশগ্রহণকারীদের সঙ্গে মতবিনিময় করেন। তিনি নারীর ক্ষমতায়ন, বাল্যবিবাহ প্রতিরোধ, সামাজিক সম্প্রীতি, দুর্যোগ ঝুঁকি হ্রাস এবং জলবায়ু সহনশীলতা বৃদ্ধিতে প্রকল্পের অবদান সম্পর্কে জানার সুযোগ পান।
রোহিঙ্গা ক্যাম্পে তিনি ক্যাম্প কর্তৃপক্ষের সঙ্গেও আলোচনা করেন, যেখানে শরণার্থীদের বর্তমান চ্যালেঞ্জ, বিশেষ করে নারী, কিশোরী ও যুবদের সুরক্ষা, অর্থনৈতিক অন্তর্ভুক্তি এবং সহনশীলতা বৃদ্ধির সম্ভাবনা নিয়ে মতবিনিময় হয়। এছাড়াও তিনি ইএসডিও ও উত্তরণ দলের সঙ্গে পৃথক বৈঠকে প্রকল্পের অগ্রগতি, চ্যালেঞ্জ এবং ভবিষ্যতে আরও কার্যকর প্রভাব তৈরির সুযোগ নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন।
এই সফরটি প্রকল্পের অর্জন, চ্যালেঞ্জ ও ইতিবাচক প্রভাব সম্পর্কে মূল্যবান ধারণা প্রদান করে এবং কমিউনিটি-নেতৃত্বাধীন উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে সহনশীল, অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক ও টেকসই উন্নয়নে হেলভেটাসের অঙ্গীকারকে আরও দৃঢ় করে।

Humanitarian Response Team Leader at Helvetas Headquarters, visited the NSSS Project in Cox’s Bazar

Mr. Christian Felix Gemperli, Humanitarian Response Team Leader at Helvetas Headquarters (Switzerland), recently visited the Nari Shakti Samaz Shakti (NSSS) Project in Cox’s Bazar, implemented through Helvetas’ local partners Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO) and Uttaran- A Social Development Organization. During visits to both host communities and Rohingya refugee camps, he engaged with women entrepreneurs, youth groups, change champions, Local Service Providers, and project participants to learn about initiatives promoting women’s empowerment, child marriage prevention, social cohesion, disaster risk reduction, and climate resilience. In the Rohingya camps, he held discussion with camp authorities to better understand the challenges faced by refugees and to explore opportunities for strengthening protection, economic inclusion, and resilience among women, adolescent girls, and youth. He also held separate meetings with ESDO and Uttaran teams to discuss project achievements, challenges, and opportunities for strengthening impact. The visit reaffirmed Helvetas’ commitment to supporting community-led solutions that build resilience, inclusion, and sustainable development.

🌍 বিশ্ব খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা দিবস ২০২৬ 🌾
প্রতি বছর ৭ জুন বিশ্ব খাদ্য নিরাপত্তা দিবস পালন করা হয়, যা সবার জন্য নিরাপদ ও পুষ্টিকর খাদ্য নিশ্চিত করার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরে। ২০২৬ সালের প্রতিপাদ্য,“সমস্যা থেকে সমাধানের পথে: সর্বত্র নিরাপদ খাদ্য”, খাদ্যবাহিত রোগের ঝুঁকি হ্রাস এবং খাদ্য উৎপাদন থেকে ভোক্তার টেবিল পর্যন্ত সমগ্র খাদ্য শৃঙ্খলে নিরাপত্তা নিশ্চিত করতে সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগ গ্রহণের আহ্বান জানায়।

CALL-ACCESS প্রকল্পের মাধ্যমে কমিউনিটিগুলোকে নিরাপদ খাদ্য উৎপাদন, মাটির স্বাস্থ্য উন্নয়ন এবং টেকসই ভূমি ব্যবস্থাপনা চর্চায় সহায়তা করে যাচ্ছে। ২০২৫ সালে, ১১,৭১৪ টি পরিবার ভার্মি-কম্পোস্ট ব্যবহার করে বাড়িভিত্তিক খাদ্য উৎপাদন কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা করেছে, যা নিরাপদ খাদ্য উৎপাদন, স্বাস্থ্যকর মাটি এবং আরও টেকসই জীবিকা নিশ্চিত করতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রেখেছে।

নিরাপদ খাদ্য শুধু সুস্বাস্থ্যের ভিত্তিই নয়, এটি একটি টেকসই ও সমৃদ্ধ সমাজ গঠনের অন্যতম পূর্বশর্ত। আসুন, নিরাপদ খাদ্য উৎপাদন ও পরিবেশ রক্ষায় সম্মিলিত উদ্যোগের মাধ্যমে আগামী প্রজন্মের জন্য একটি টেকসই ভবিষ্যৎ নিশ্চিত করি।

Every year on 7 June, World Food Safety Day highlights the importance of ensuring safe and nutritious food for everyone. The theme for 2026, “From Burden to Solutions: Safe Food Everywhere,” calls for collective action to reduce foodborne diseases and strengthen food safety across the entire food value chain.

Through the 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋-𝐀𝐂𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒 Project, communities are being supported to promote safe food production, improve soil health, and adopt sustainable land management practices. In 2025, 𝟏𝟏,𝟕𝟏𝟒 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐬 practiced homestead-level food production using vermi-compost, contributing to safer food production, healthier soils, and more sustainable livelihoods.
Food safety is a shared responsibility. Together, we can create healthier communities, protect our environment, and build a more sustainable future for all.

৫ জুন কুড়িগ্রাম জেলার শালমারা ইসলামিয়া বহুমুখী উচ্চ বিদ্যালয়ে এবং কক্সবাজার জেলার উখিয়া ও টেকনাফ উপজেলায়, উভয়ই হোস্ট কমিউনিটি এবং রোহিঙ্গা ক্যাম্পে শিশু, তরুণ-তরুণী, শিক্ষক এবং স্থানীয় প্রতিনিধি একত্রিত হয়ে বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবস ২০২৬ উদযাপন করেন। এবারের প্রতিপাদ্য ছিল:“জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন: আজকের পদক্ষেপ, আগামীর নিরাপত্তা” এবং বৈশ্বিক বার্তা #এখনই জলবায়ুর জন্য পদক্ষেপ, যা দ্রুত জলবায়ু কার্যক্রম গ্রহণের জরুরি প্রয়োজনীয়তাকে গুরুত্ব দেয়।
অনুষ্ঠানে বর্ণাঢ্য র‍্যালি, আলোচনা সভা, রচনা ও কুইজ প্রতিযোগিতা, পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠান এবং প্রতীকী বৃক্ষরোপণ কার্যক্রম অনুষ্ঠিত হয়, যা পরিবেশ সুরক্ষা, জলবায়ু কার্যক্রম এবং জীববৈচিত্র্য সংরক্ষণের গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরে। এছাড়াও বাংলাদেশ সরকারের আগামী পাঁচ বছরে ২৫ কোটি গাছ রোপণের উদ্যোগকে গুরুত্বের সাথে তুলে ধরা হয়। এই জাতীয় উদ্যোগকে সমর্থন জানিয়ে CALL-ACCESS এবং CALL- NSSS প্রকল্প তাদের কার্যক্রম এলাকায় পরিবার, শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান ও কমিউনিটি পর্যায়ে বৃক্ষরোপণ কার্যক্রম বাস্তবায়নের পরিকল্পনা করছে।
প্রকল্পটি আরও টেকসই কৃষি পদ্ধতি যেমন ভার্মি-কম্পোস্ট, ট্রাইকো-কম্পোস্ট এবং খড় মালচিং-এর মাধ্যমে মাটির স্বাস্থ্য সংরক্ষণ ও টেকসই ভূমি ব্যবস্থাপনাকে উৎসাহিত করছে।

Children, young people, teachers, local representatives gathered on 5 June in Shalmara Islamia Multipurpose High School, Kurigram district and Ukhiya and Teknaf Upazila under Cox’s Bazar district in both Host Community and Rohingya Camp to celebrate the 2026 under the theme “Inspired by Nature. For the Climate. For Our Future.” with the global campaign message , emphasizing the urgent need for immediate climate action.

The event featured colorful rally, discussion session, essay & quiz competitions, prize distribution ceremony, and symbolic tree plantation activities, emphasizing the importance of environmental protection, climate action, and biodiversity conservation. The events also echoed the Government of Bangladesh’s commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development through its initiative to plant 250 million trees over the next five years. In support of this national effort, the CALL-ACCESS and CALL-NSSS Project is planning to contribute through household, educational institution-based, and community-led tree plantation initiatives in its intervention areas.

The project is also promoting climate-resilient agricultural practices, including vermi-compost, tricho-compost, and straw mulching, to strengthen soil health and support sustainable land management.
The CALL-ACCESS and CALL- NSSS Project reaffirmed its commitment to fostering greener, cleaner, and more climate-resilient communities.

হেলভেটাস বাংলাদেশের নেতৃত্বে সিমস (স্ট্রেনদেন্ড অ্যান্ড ইনফরমেটিভ মাইগ্রেশন সিস্টেমস) টিম ও এর পাঁচটি বাস্তবায়নকারী সহযোগী সংস্থা RMMRU, Ovibashi Karmi Unnayan Program - OKUP, BNWLA-Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers Association, PROTTYASHI, সিসিডিএ প্রবাসী কল্যাণ ও বৈদেশিক কর্মসংস্থান মন্ত্রণালয়ের মাননীয় মন্ত্রী আরিফুল হক চৌধুরী, এমপির সঙ্গে সৌজন্য সাক্ষাৎ করেছে।

সভায় সিমসের কার্যক্রম তুলে ধরার পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশ থেকে নিরাপদ, ন্যায্য ও আরও জবাবদিহিমূলক শ্রম অভিবাসন নিশ্চিত করার গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়গুলো নিয়ে আলোচনা হয়। এর মধ্যে ছিল পিডিএমও’র প্রাতিষ্ঠানিকীকরণ, নৈতিক নিয়োগ প্রক্রিয়া, অভিবাসী কর্মীদের কল্যাণ, নারী অভিবাসী কর্মীদের সুরক্ষা, ওইপির সাথে বিএমইটি অভিযোগ ব্যবস্থাপনা উন্নয়ন এবং অভিবাসী কর্মী পরিবারের আর্থিক সাক্ষরতা।

হেলভেটাস বাংলাদেশ অভিবাসী কর্মী ও তাঁদের পরিবারের জন্য সেবা ও ব্যবস্থাকে আরও শক্তিশালী করতে বাংলাদেশ সরকার ও সহযোগী সংস্থাগুলোর সঙ্গে কাজ করে যেতে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ।

The SIMS (Strengthened and Informative Migration Systems) team led by Helvetas Bangladesh together with its five implementing partners RMMRU, Ovibashi Karmi Unnayan Program - OKUP, BNWLA-Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers Association, PROTTYASHIi, সিসিডিএ paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Choudhury for the first time since the Minister assumed office.

The meeting provided an opportunity to introduce the work of SIMS and discuss key priorities for safer, fairer and more accountable labour migration from Bangladesh, including PDMO institutionalisation, ethical recruitment, migrant welfare, protection of women migrant workers, upgradation of BMET case management under OEP (Overseas Employment Platform), and financial literacy for migrant worker households.

২০২৬ সালের ১৭ মে এনজিও বিষয়ক ব্যুরোর পরিচালক ব্যারিস্টার মোঃ খলিলুর রহমান খান, এনজিওএবি কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ এবং হেলভেটাস বাংলাদেশ-এর প্রতিনিধিদের সাথে উখিয়া উপজেলার ক্যাম্প-৪ এ অবস্থিত নারীবান্ধব নিরাপদ কেন্দ্র পরিদর্শন করেন। সেখানে তিনি উত্তরণ কর্তৃক বাস্তবায়িত “নারী শক্তি সমাজ শক্তি (NSSS)” প্রকল্পের বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রম পর্যবেক্ষণ করেন। প্রকল্পটি রোহিঙ্গা ক্যাম্প প্রেক্ষাপটে নারীর অর্থনৈতিক ক্ষমতায়ন, সামাজিক সুরক্ষা, জলবায়ু সহনশীলতা এবং কমিউনিটি-নেতৃত্বাধীন উন্নয়ন কার্যক্রমকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাচ্ছে। পরিদর্শনকালে তিনি নারী উদ্যোক্তা, ইয়ুথ গ্রুপ সদস্য, চেঞ্জ চ্যাম্পিয়ন এবং স্থানীয় সেবা প্রদানকারীর সাথে মতবিনিময় করেন। তারা জীবিকা উন্নয়ন, দুর্যোগ প্রস্তুতি, জলবায়ু অভিযোজন এবং বাল্যবিবাহ ও জেন্ডারভিত্তিক সহিংসতা প্রতিরোধে তাদের অভিজ্ঞতা ও কার্যক্রম তুলে ধরেন। তিনি তরুণ নারী ও পুরুষদের সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণের মাধ্যমে কমিউনিটি সহনশীলতা বৃদ্ধিতে তাদের ভূমিকার প্রশংসা করেন। পাশাপাশি, ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ জনগোষ্ঠীর ক্ষমতায়নে অন্তর্ভুক্তিমূলক ও টেকসই উদ্যোগ বাস্তবায়নের জন্য উত্তরণ ও হেলভেটাসের যৌথ প্রচেষ্টারও প্রশংসা করেন।

Director of NGOAB Visits NSSS Project Activities in Camp 4, Ukhiya

On 17 May 2026, Barrister Md. Khalilur Rahman Khan, Director of the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB), accompanied by NGOAB officials and representatives from Helvetas Bangladesh, visited the Women Friendly Safe Space in Camp 4 under Ukhiya Upazila to observe activities under the “Nari Shakti Samaz Shakti (NSSS)” project implemented by Uttaran. The project promotes women’s economic empowerment, social protection, climate resilience, and community-led development within the Rohingya camp context.
During the visit, the Director interacted with women entrepreneurs, youth group members, change champions, and Local Service Providers (LSPs), who shared their experiences in livelihood development, disaster preparedness, climate adaptation, and advocacy against early marriage and gender-based violence (GBV). The Director appreciated the active role of young women and men in strengthening community resilience and praised the collaborative efforts of Uttaran- A Social Development Organization and Helvetas in empowering vulnerable communities through inclusive and sustainable initiatives. The visit also strengthened coordination and experience sharing among community groups, project stakeholders, NGOAB officials, and Helvetas teams.
