Our Story

Society for Ordinary Peoples Necessary Opportunities (SOPNO) is a non government development organization it started its journey in 23 June, 2014 and approved by government in June, 2015. SOPNO provides support on the following program areas. 1. Climate Change 2. Socio-economic Development 3. Child Education 4. Human Rights Climate Change: Climate change is a change in the statistical distribution of weather patterns. This change lasts for an extended period of time. Climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions. Certain human activities have also been identified as significant causes of recent climate change, often referred to as "global warming". It is affecting badly on our life style, food habit and our health too. So, our first working sector is adaptive capacity building, livelihood improvement, planning and implementation of necessity measures among affected communities due to climate change. Socio-economic Development: Socio-economic development is a process that seeks to identify both the social and the economic needs within a community, and seek to create strategies that will address those needs in ways that are practical and in the best interests of the community over the long run. The general idea is to find ways to improve the standard of living within the area while also making sure the local economy is healthy and capable of sustaining the population present in the area. In this sector we try to improve the economical condition of such a family who has lost their only earning member. For this purpose, we provide them different domestic animals, short farm of cow, goat, poultry, gardening, fish etc. for creating their working opportunities. Child Education: Education is the road that children follow to reach their full potential in life. Yet many children in need around the Bangladesh do not get a quality education where they can learn and develop. To advance learning, SOPNO supports education programs for children. Human Right: Human rights are rights inherent to all human beings, whatever our nationality, place of residence, s*x, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, language, or any other status. We are all equally entitled to our human rights without discrimination. These rights are all interrelated, interdependent and indivisible. Our most important programs are human rights related. Especially we focus on ensuring the rights of: 1. Children 2. Women
