Our Co-Founder, Rajeeb Samdani, recently spoke at the IKT Symposium 2026: Art Philanthropy — Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow, held on 4th May at Deloitte in Milan, contributing to a global dialogue on the evolving role of philanthropy in the arts.

During the panel, he reflected on his ongoing commitment to supporting artists and expanding public access to their work. Together with our Co-Founder, Nadia Samdani MBE, these efforts have taken shape through the Samdani Art Foundation, the Dhaka Art Summit, and Srihatta: Samdani Art Centre and Sculpture Park, platforms dedicated to advancing contemporary art and architecture from Bangladesh and across South Asia.

Organised by IKT (International Association of Curators of Contemporary Art), the symposium convened leading voices to explore how art philanthropy can shape cultural futures.

We are pleased to share the recent Vogue Korea feature highlighting Samdani Art Foundation and our Artistic Director, Diana Campbell, and her work across international and Bangladeshi contemporary art contexts.

In the article, Diana Campbell reflects on her experience working internationally and within Bangladesh, speaking about building a research-driven platform that connects local practices with wider global narratives. She also shares how the Dhaka Art Summit has evolved over the years as a cumulative and collaborative space for exchange, learning, and new commissions.

The Samdani Art Foundation is pleased to share the logo and visual identity for Tondra (তন্দ্রা).

At the centre of the identity is a spiral embedded within the wordmarks, symbolising a passage between awareness and dream. In motion, liquid forms gather and transform—first shaping the Bangla logo, then morphing into the English version, before resolving into the master mark. This fluid transition echoes the liminal drift between sleep entry and sleep exit.

Bangla and English forms coexist within the identity, reflecting the dual nature of Tondra, where two worlds briefly overlap. The neon green palette evokes altered perception: vivid, unstable, and slightly otherworldly.

The visual identity was designed by Farah Yasmin—Creative Director, illustrator, writer, and founder of .lab—who was selected through the Foundation’s open call for the development of Tondra’s graphic identity.

Soma Surovi Jannat’s debut solo exhibition in the UK opened on 28th March at the Ashmolean Museum.

In the exhibition, Surovi presents a new body of work created in dialogue with objects from the museum’s collection. The exhibition brings together around 40 works and objects, including works on paper, a 30-foot-long scroll, and an ephemeral wall drawing created directly in the gallery.

Her art reflects on environmental issues and the interconnectedness of nature and humanity, especially in Bangladesh, where the Sundarbans, faces threats from climate change. In her paintings and drawings, capturing urgent global and environmental issues, Surovi critiques the link between natural disasters and social inequalities.

The Samdani Art Foundation is proud to be among the supporters of the exhibition.

Congratulations to our Photosynthesis artists-in-residence at Srihatta, Himali Singh Soin & David Soin Tappeser, and Annalee Davis, on being invited to participate in the 61st Venice Art Biennale, titled In Minor Keys, taking place from 9 May to 22 November 2026.

We are also delighted that our Photosynthesis partner institution, Denniston Hill, has also been invited to take part in this edition of the Biennale.

Curated by Koyo Kouoh, our past DAS collaborator, who was instrumental in RAW Material Company’s fourth edition of its biannual symposium programme, Condition Report 4: Stepping Out of Line; Art Collectives and Translocal Parallelism, which explored the artistic landscape in Africa and beyond during DAS 2020, bringing together art collectives from across regions and fostering a dialogue between Bangladeshi and Global South collectives.

Building on this commitment to transnational dialogue and collective exchange, In Minor Keys brings together 111 invited participants — including individual artists, collaborative duos, collectives, and artist-led organisations from across diverse geographies and regions. The participants were chosen with careful attention to resonance, affinity, and the potential convergences between practices, even when separated by great distances.
