TraumaLink is a volunteer-based emergency response system working to reduce deaths and injuries from road traffic crashes. Our dedicated volunteers are often the first responders, rushing to crash scenes, providing lifesaving first aid, and helping victims reach medical care.

Orientation Meeting on Post-Crash Response Initiatives with the Support of WHO

With the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) Bangladesh and in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), TraumaLink organized an Orientation Meeting on Post-Crash Response Initiatives on 4 November 2025 at the Conference Room of the Upazila Health Complex, Chandina, Cumilla.

The meeting brought together key officials from Upazila Health Complexes under the Cumilla District to review achievements, share experiences, and explore pathways for scaling up post-crash response initiatives nationwide. Arup Saha, Executive Director of TraumaLink, delivered a presentation highlighting the project’s progress and major milestones achieved under the current phase. He emphasized the importance of community-led emergency response systems and cross-sectoral collaboration in reducing post-crash fatalities. Consultative Workshop on Enhancing Advocacy for Scaling Up the Post-Crash Response Model

With the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) Bangladesh, and in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), TraumaLink hosted a Consultative Workshop on Enhancing Advocacy for Scaling Up the Post-Crash Response Model on 29 October 2025 at the NCDC Conference Room, DGHS Bhaban, Mohakhali, Dhaka.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders from government and partner organizations to review achievements, share experiences, and identify pathways for expanding the post-crash response initiatives nationwide. Consultative Workshop on Strengthening Post-Crash Response Initiatives in Bangladesh

In partnership with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) Bangladesh, TraumaLink organized a Consultative Workshop on Strengthening Post-Crash Response Initiatives in Bangladesh on 27 October 2025 at the NCDC Conference Room, DGHS Bhaban, Mohakhali, Dhaka.

During the session, Arup Saha, Executive Director of TraumaLink, delivered a presentation showcasing the project’s progress and major milestones. He underscored the significance of community-based emergency response systems and strong inter-agency coordination in minimizing post-crash mortality across the country. The workshop convened representatives from National Heart Foundation Hospital & Research Institute, ARK Foundation, BRTA, BYEA, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital, Department of Social Service, Mugda Medical College and Hospital, CRP, RHD (Road Safety Department), National Emergency Service (999), Fire Service and Civil Defense, Highway Police Headquarters, and NITOR. In collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and the World Health Organization (WHO) Bangladesh, TraumaLink organized the Consultative Workshop on the Progress of the Post-Crash Response Initiative in Bangladesh on 22 October 2025 at the NCDC Conference Room, DGHS Bhaban, Mohakhali, Dhaka.

Arup Saha, Executive Director of TraumaLink, delivered a presentation highlighting the progress and key achievements of the Post-Crash Response Initiative. His presentation emphasized the importance of community-based emergency response models and multi-sectoral collaboration in reducing post-crash fatalities across Bangladesh.

The workshop brought together representatives from the Highway Police, BTRC, BUET, Fire Service and Civil Defense, Department of Social Services, NITOR, SpaandanB, CRP, Bangladesh Medical University, and Roads and Highways Department. Participants reviewed progress, shared insights, and identified strategies to further strengthen post-crash response mechanisms nationwide.

Launch of TraumaLink’s 15 km Service Expansion in Sitakunda, Chattogram

On 23 September 2025, TraumaLink, in partnership with the Rahim Family Foundation, officially launched its 15 km service extension at the Hajera Havan Garden Community Center, Sitakunda, Chattogram. The initiative expands TraumaLink’s coverage along the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway and strengthens community-based emergency response. During the event, newly trained volunteers received vests, ID cards, certificates, and first aid kits as part of their formal induction.

The program welcomed distinguished guests, including Dr. Altaf Hossain, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Sitakunda; Md. Zakir Rabbani, Officer-in-Charge, Kumira Highway Police Station; Md. Belal Hossain, Senior Station Officer, Fire Service and Civil Defense; Md. Nazrul Islam, Municipal Executive Officer, Sitakunda; Md. Nasir Uddin, President of the Sitakunda Bazar Businessmen Association; Md. Sajjad Hossain (Rafiq), General Secretary, Sitakunda Businessmen Association; and Arup Saha, Executive Director of TraumaLink. The event was facilitated by Jubair Mahmud, Area Coordinator, TraumaLink.

The launch saw participation from 80 attendees, including government officials, community leaders, and volunteers, highlighting strong local engagement and commitment to improving road safety and emergency care services.

Successful Completion of Training under the New 15 km Expansion in Sitakunda

We are delighted to share that the final batch of community volunteers training under our new 15 km expansion project was successfully completed on 02 September 2025 in Sitakunda, Chattogram. A total of 22 enthusiastic participants attended this last session, which was facilitated by Dr. Rajiquzzaman Mazumder. The participants showed remarkable attentiveness and active engagement throughout the program, reflecting their strong commitment to improving emergency response in their communities.

With the completion of this session, we have now trained 61 dedicated community members across three batches, equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge to provide life-saving support during emergencies on the roads.

This milestone marks another step forward in strengthening community-based emergency response, ensuring safer journeys, and saving precious lives. We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone involved in making this initiative a success, and we look forward to continuing this important journey together. We are excited to share that our first batch of training for the new 15 km expansion in Sitakunda, Chattogram was successfully completed on 31 August 2025.

Service Launching Event for the Extension of the Post-Crash Response Model at Daudkandi, Cumilla, with the Support of WHO

On 14 August 2025, TraumaLink, with the support of the World Health Organization Bangladesh and in collaboration with the Non-Communicable Disease Control (NCDC) Program, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), successfully hosted the Service Launching Event for the Extension of the Post-Crash Response Model at the Molla Community Center, Daudkandi Biswaroad, Cumilla. The event marked the official launch of an additional 30 km of post-crash response operations, extending coverage from Barokandi, Baushia, Gazaria, Munshiganj to Madhaiya, Chandina, Cumilla along the Dhaka–Chattogram Highway. As part of the program, vests, ID cards, certificates, first aid kits, and stretchers were formally handed over to newly trained community volunteers.

The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Syed Zakir Hossain, Line Director, NCDC, DGHS, who praised the dedication and service of the volunteer first responders. The Guest of Honor, Dr. Rajesh Narwal, Deputy WHO Representative to Bangladesh, expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for their commitment to saving lives and serving their communities. His inspiring remarks were warmly received by the participants. The Special Guests for the event included Ali Noor Mohammad Bashir Ahmed. Civil Surgeon, Cumilla, Naima Islam, Upazila Nirbahi Officer, Daudkandi, Dr. Nusaer Chowdhury, Deputy Program Manager, NCDC, DGHS, Dr. Habibur Rahman, Upazila Health & Family Welfare Officer, Daudkandi, and Mridul Chowdhury, CEO, mPower Social Enterprises Ltd. Arup Chandra Saha, Executive Director, TraumaLink, conducted the daylong event. In addition, there were together 100 participants in total, consisting of government officials from the national and local levels, non-government officials, civil society leaders, and dedicated volunteers.
