Bangladesh Association for Sustainable Development (BASD) was registered with NGO Affairs Bureau, No. 886, Social Welfare Directorate, No. 03221 and MRA No. 05518-04426-00431. Objectives
• Self-help group development with the poor and vulnerable people.
• Disaster risk reduction and enhance resilience of the poor and vulnerable community.
• Environmental protection and development through eco-village and permaculture.
• Promote livelihood through different kinds of skill development training and IGA.
• Promote primary education among the children from poor families.
• Improve health, hygiene and sanitation status of the poor.
• Prevention of HIV&AIDS, trafficking and child labor.
• Eradicate social injustice and violence against girls and women. Organization Values and Principles
Core Values: As a development organization, to create a distinct image in the community and to others, BASD has decided to adopt some core values that will be maintained by the staff, executive committee, advisory board members and all others who are associated with BASD in all spare of its activities. It is expected that all concerned will inculcate and demonstrate the BASD’s core values in all instances and work positively to promote the organizational values within their scope. The BASD’s core values are:

BASD, as an organization, also decided to follow some basic principles in the work field which will help to build reputation, gain better acceptance and bring efficiency that will facilitate the growth and expansion of BASD and ensure smooth implementation of its development programs. The working principles selected by BASD for anchoring are:
• Serving the most oppressed and vulnerable people from the ‘hard to reach’ areas.
• Establishing rights and dignity of the poor and the vulnerable peoples, groups and communities.
• Developing people’s capacities to link up and influence government programs, services, policies.
• Ensuring transparency and accountability in all spare of BASD activities.
• Maintaining flexibility and diversity in development programming.
• Choosing the most cost-effective ways in program operations.
• Openness to learn from others and build on innovations and experiences of others.
• Willingness to share own experience and information with others.

Target People: Who are the people BASD will serve on a priority basis
BASD has decided to serve the following people under the scope of its various development programs during the next planning period:
• Tribal and other minority groups of people.
• Tea garden workers.
• Mainland poor families targeting both men and women. Day labors
Marginal farmers and sharecroppers
Other occupational groups such as fishermen, craftsmen, porters, small traders, etc.
• Children.
• Adolescents. Organizational Structure (Organogram)
Given the increase in staff members and diversification and geographic dispersion of BASD activities, and execute the newly developed strategic plan, decision has been made to revise the existing organogram of BASD that mentioned in the below:
