Independent Film Producers' Platform of Bangladesh is happy to announce its partnership with Department of Television, Film and Photography, University of Dhaka.

This partnership aims to boost independent cinema, along with academics specially designed for film students and young filmmakers. This remarkable achievement is a personal milestone for Tanveer Hossain and a proud moment for all Bangladeshi film producers. It marks a significant step forward in bringing authentic Bangladeshi stories to the global stage. Cannes is one of the highest platforms in world cinema, and this selection puts our storytelling, talent, and vision firmly in the international spotlight.

This remarkable achievement is a personal milestone for Tanveer Hossain and a proud moment for all Bangladeshi film producers. It marks a significant step forward in bringing authentic Bangladeshi stories to the global stage. In the last session of the Tareque Masud Technical Show, organized by the Tareque Masud Memorial Trust (TMMT), the Independent Film Producers' Platform of Bangladesh (IFPPB), and Cine Craft, four short films by four young filmmakers were screened. The films presented were "Red Apple" by Ahsan Sarun, "Joining Letter" by Nahid Noman, "Window of the Soul" by Yusuf Khan Nur, and "Ongikar" by Ananto Kumar Das.

After the screening of each film, invited guests engaged in detailed discussions about various aspects of the films. The discussion panel included filmmaker and film critic Sadia Khalid Riti, filmmaker Prasun Rahman, film educator Dr. Muhammad Sajjad Hossain, cinematographer Mohammad Arifuzzaman, filmmaker and editor Sharmin Doza, filmmaker and researcher Sajedul Islam, and sound editor Nahid Masud.

The audience and panelists were amazed and impressed by the diversity of themes and the innovative storytelling approaches of these young filmmakers. They also provided constructive feedback on how to further enhance each film. The filmmakers expressed their satisfaction at being able to showcase their work to the audience and appreciated the valuable insights they received. Guests and filmmakers alike expressed optimism that such initiatives would help young creators progress in their journeys.

Previously, on Friday, November 8, the show featured A Snail Without a Shell by Mohin Rakhine Tamukkhya, Roots That Clutch by Khalek Sadman, and Tiras by Subhasish Sinha.

Eleanor Teh, a Malaysian producer who graduated with a BSc in Accounting and Finance in the UK, combines her academic expertise with a passion for filmmaking.

Currently, she is developing her feature films. An alumna of the 2022 Malaysian Development Lab (myLAB), she is also a 2023 fellow of the Busan Asian Film School (AFiS) and a steering committee member of the 2024 New Asian Producer Network (NAPNet).

Charlie is a film professional with a background in Asian co-productions. With an academic foundation in film and cultural studies from institutions like the Busan Asian Film School, Beijing Film Academy, and the University of Hong Kong, he has co-produced films across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and North America. Charlie's experience also includes teaching and research in the creative industry, where he has served as a program leader and researcher at various universities, focusing on Asian cinema and international co-productions.

Hiranya is a Film and TV Commercial producer in Sri Lanka. She is an alumna of Busan Asian Film School (AFiS). She was also selected to participate at the Film Bazaar Producer’s Lab, Produire au Sud - Nantes, Asian Producers Network - Singapore and Asian Project Market - Korea.

Hiranya is a member of the New Asian Producers Network (NAPNet). Hiranya received the Leadership in the Field of Film Industry award at the Top50 Professional and Career Women Global Awards 2023.

She co-founded Silent Frames Productions. Her debut short film, SILENT TEARS traveled to 27 international film festivals including Locarno- Open Doors and secured 19 awards. Her feature projects SCENT OF A DEAD BODY, BEND IN THE COFFIN (TENTIGO), and RABBIT HOLE were selected to participate in the Film Bazaar Co-production market, Clinik Kathmandu - Doc Skool script writing lab, PAS - Nantes, and Asian Content and Film Market - Korea.

Her producing credits include AGNI SIRAGUGAL (short film) funded by USAID and DODANA KELI (short film) secured the production fund by iflix – Kokoro Filmmaker Festival. Her debut feature film, TENTIGO (Nelum Kuluna) is a co-production between Sri Lanka and India and premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival where it secured the Special Jury Award and screened at the Glasgow Film Festival UK, Karawan Festival Rome, SÃŖo Paulo IFF - Brazil. Tentigo will be the first-ever Sri Lankan film to have a remake in another country. The Indian remake is currently in production where Hiranya holds a producer credit in the remake film.
Tentigo will also be remade in Italy, Spain, USA and talks are underway for French and Belgian remakes.

Previously, she was a TV program producer and a TV commercial director at MTV Sri Lanka, a subsidiary company of The Capital Maharaja Organization.
