Children’s Voices for a Violence-Free Future

National Preparatory Consultation for the 2nd Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children

Bangladesh is preparing its National End Violence Against Children (EVAC) Pledge for the 2nd Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, scheduled to take place on 18–19 November 2026 in Manila, Philippines. With the support of INCIDIN Bangladesh, as part of the National Preparatory Consultations, NACG Bangladesh and ATSEC Bangladesh Secretariats jointly organized a Child Consultation on 30 September 2026 at the A.K.M. Mustaque Ali Conference Room, INCIDIN Bangladesh Head Office, Dhaka.

25 children and adolescents, representing child groups from different Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), actively participated in the consultation. The Regional Chair of ATSEC, Advocate Salma Ali inaugurated the event, while the Chair of NACG Bangladesh and ATSEC Bangladesh, AKM Masud Ali steered the consultation. Representatives from national-level CSOs, including INCIDIN Bangladesh, Aparajeyo Bangladesh, Nari Maitree, Bangladesh National Women Lawyers’ Association (BNWLA), and Breaking the Silence, also joined the discussion.

The consultation created a meaningful space for children and adolescents to share their experiences, priorities and recommendations. Participants identified child trafficking, s*xual abuse/exploitation, exploitation of street children, child labour, child marriage, eve teasing and bad touch along with the neglect and deprivation of education, shelter, health and nutrition as key forms of violence against children. Gaps in implementation of law and institutional care need to be addressed.

The voices and recommendations emerging from the consultation will contribute to Bangladesh’s National Pledge addressing Violence Against Children.

Let us ensure that children’s voices are heard, valued and meaningfully reflected in national commitments and actions to End Violence Against Children.

৪ আগস্ট ২০২৬ তারিখে ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশ -এর আয়োজনে JTIP প্রকল্পের আওতায় "সামাজিক দায়বদ্ধতা (CSR) ও চাইল্ড স্পন্সরশিপ" বিষয়ক একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ আলোচনা সভা সফলভাবে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে।

অনুষ্ঠানে দেশের শীর্ষস্থানীয় ব্যাংক, আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান, টেলিকম, তৈরি পোশাকশিল্প, আন্তর্জাতিক উন্নয়ন সহযোগী এবং দেশীয় চ্যারিটি সংস্থার প্রতিনিধিরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। অংশগ্রহণকারী উল্লেখযোগ্য প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর মধ্যে ছিল বিকাশ, ব্যাংক এশিয়া, ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফাইন্যান্স কর্পোরেশন (IFC), ইউনাইটেড গ্রুপ, আকিজ ভেঞ্চার, বিডিজবস, রিসোর্স লিংক, অন্তিক, মিথেলা গ্রুপ, লায়ন্স ক্লাব, অরবিটেক্স নিটওয়্যার, প্রেটি গ্রুপ এবং সেভ দ্য চিলড্রেন-এর স্পন্সরশিপ বিভাগ।

এছাড়াও অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশের উন্নয়ন সহযোগী দ্য ফ্রিডম ফান্ড-এর প্রোগ্রাম ম্যানেজার ও বাংলাদেশ প্রোগ্রাম লিড।

আলোচনা সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশ-এর চেয়ারম্যান তোফাজ্জল হোসেন।

আলোচনার মাধ্যমে অংশগ্রহণকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহের প্রতিনিধিরা ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশের শিশুকেন্দ্রিক বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রম সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত ধারণা লাভ করেন এবং একটি কার্যকর ও টেকসই "চাইল্ড স্পন্সরশিপ উদ্যোগ" বাস্তবায়নে মূল্যবান মতামত ও পরামর্শ প্রদান করেন। একই সঙ্গে তারা সুবিধাবঞ্চিত শিশুদের শিক্ষা, সুরক্ষা, বিকাশ ও কল্যাণে ভবিষ্যতে বিভিন্ন উদ্যোগে সহযোগিতা ও অংশীদারিত্বের দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার ব্যক্ত করেন।

পথশিশুদের জন্য একটি নিরাপদ, মর্যাদাপূর্ণ ও সম্ভাবনাময় ভবিষ্যৎ গড়ে তুলতে সরকার, উন্নয়ন সহযোগী এবং বেসরকারি খাতের সমন্বিত উদ্যোগই হতে পারে টেকসই পরিবর্তনের অন্যতম ভিত্তি। এই লক্ষ্যেই ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশ অংশীদারিত্বের পরিসর আরও বিস্তৃত করতে প্রতিশ্রুতিবদ্ধ।

INCIDIN Bangladesh Advances New Partnerships with the Private Sector to Promote Social Responsibility and Build a Better Future for the street-connected Children.
On 4 August 2026, INCIDIN Bangladesh, under its JTIP Project, successfully organized a significant discussion meeting on "Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Child Sponsorship."
The event brought together representatives from leading banks, financial institutions, telecommunications companies, the ready-made garments (RMG) sector, international development organizations, and national charitable organizations. Notable participating organizations included bKash, Bank Asia, International Finance Corporation (IFC), United Group, Akij Venture, Bdjobs, Resource Link, Antik, Mithela Group, Lions Club, Orbitex Knitwear, Pretty Group, and the Sponsorship Department of Save the Children.
The event was also attended by the Programme Manager and Bangladesh Programme Lead of The Freedom Fund, a development partner of INCIDIN Bangladesh.
The discussion was chaired by Tofazzal Hossain, Chairman of INCIDIN Bangladesh.
During the meeting, representatives of the participating organizations gained a comprehensive understanding of INCIDIN Bangladesh's child-focused initiatives and shared valuable insights and recommendations for developing an effective and sustainable Child Sponsorship Initiative. They also expressed their strong commitment to future collaboration and partnership in promoting the education, protection, development, and overall well-being of disadvantaged children.
Building a safe, dignified, and opportunity-filled future for street-connected children requires coordinated efforts among the government, development partners, and the private sector. With this vision, INCIDIN Bangladesh remains committed to expanding strategic partnerships to create sustainable and lasting change.

ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশ তার সাংগঠনিক সক্ষমতা উন্নয়ন কার্যক্রমের অংশ হিসেবে আজ, ২৪ জুন ২০২৬, গাজীপুরের ছুটি রিসোর্টে দুই দিনব্যাপী ‘ডিজিটাল MEAL ও রিপোর্টিং কাঠামো’ বিষয়ক একটি কর্মশালার উদ্বোধন করেছে।
কর্মশালাটির মূল লক্ষ্য হলো ডিজিটাল MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning) ব্যবস্থা এবং রিপোর্টিং কাঠামো সম্পর্কে ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশের সদস্যদের দক্ষতা ও সক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি করা, যাতে প্রতিষ্ঠানের কার্যক্রম আরও কার্যকর, স্বচ্ছ ও তথ্যভিত্তিকভাবে পরিচালিত হয়।

As part of its organizational capacity strengthening initiatives, INCIDIN Bangladesh inaugurated a two-day workshop on Digital MEAL and Reporting Frameworks today, 24 June 2026, at Chuti Resort in Gazipur.
The primary objective of the workshop is to enhance participants’ knowledge, skills, and capacities in digital MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning) systems and reporting frameworks, thereby enabling the organization to implement its programs and operations in a more effective, transparent, and evidence-based manner.

আজ ২১শে জুন, ২০২৬, ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশের অন্যতম প্রতিষ্ঠাতা নির্বাহী পরিচালক এ.কে.এম. মুশতাক আলীর তৃতীয় মৃত্যুবার্ষিকী সংস্থার পক্ষ থেকে বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রমের মাধ্যমে পালন করা হয়।

আজ দুপুরে সংস্থার ধলপুরে অবস্থিত পথ শিশুদের জন্য পরিচালিত সেন্টারে দিনটির স্মরণে শিশুদের জন্য বিশেষ খাবার ও স্মরণ সভার আয়োজন করা হয়। বিকালে মোহম্মদপুরে অবস্থিত হেড অফিসের "এ.কে.এম. মুশতাক আলী সম্মেলন কক্ষে" স্মারক বক্তৃতা মালার অংশ হিসেবে "চাইল্ড রাইটস গভর্নেন্স এসেম্বলি: ফিরে দেখা" শীর্ষক আলোচনা সভার আয়োজন করা হয়। উক্ত সভায় ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশ ও তার বন্ধু সংগঠনের বিশেষ ব্যাক্তিবর্গ উপস্থিত ছিলেন। স্মারক অনুষ্ঠান শেষে ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশের সদস্যগন এ.কে.এম. মুশতাক আলীর সমাধিতে শ্রদ্ধাঞ্জলি অর্পণ করেন।

On 21 June 2026, INCIDIN Bangladesh solemnly observed the third death anniversary of A.K.M. Mustaque Ali, one of the organization’s founding Executive Directors, through a series of special activities.
As part of the observance, a special meal and remembrance session were organized at noon for children at the organization’s center for street children in Dhalpur. Later in the afternoon, a discussion session titled “Child Rights Governance Assembly: A Retrospective” was held in the A.K.M. Mustaque Ali Conference Room at the organization’s head office in Mohammadpur. The event was attended by members of INCIDIN Bangladesh and distinguished representatives of its partner organizations.
The commemorative event concluded with members of INCIDIN Bangladesh paying their respects at the grave of A.K.M. Mustaque Ali.

ইনসিডিন বাংলাদেশের আয়োজনে EU- Speak Up! প্রকল্পের আওতায় ১৭ জুন ২০২৬ তারিখে ঢাকায় একটি সেবা নির্দেশিকা যাচাইকরণ কর্মশালা (Service Directory Validation Workshop) সফলভাবে আয়োজন করা হয়েছে।
কর্মশালায় সুশীল সমাজ সংগঠন (CSO), Speak Up! প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়নকারী অংশীদার সংগঠন এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট সরকারি প্রতিষ্ঠানের প্রতিনিধিরা অংশগ্রহণ করেন। অংশগ্রহণকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর মধ্যে জাতীয় শিশু সহায়তা হেল্পলাইন (১০৯৮), সরকারি হেল্পলাইন (১০৯) এবং বাংলাদেশ পুলিশের প্রতিনিধিরাও উপস্থিত ছিলেন। কর্মশালার মূল উদ্দেশ্য ছিল অনলাইন ও অফলাইন যৌন নির্যাতন ও শোষণের শিকার শিশু ও যুবদের সহায়তার জন্য প্রণীত একটি সমন্বিত সেবা নির্দেশিকা (Service Directory) যাচাই করা।
গঠনমূলক আলোচনা ও যৌথ পর্যালোচনার মাধ্যমে অংশগ্রহণকারীরা বিদ্যমান সেবার ঘাটতিসমূহ চিহ্নিত করেন, রেফারেল ব্যবস্থাকে আরও কার্যকর করার বিষয়ে মতৈক্যে পৌঁছান এবং সেবাদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানসমূহের মধ্যে সমন্বয় জোরদারের বিভিন্ন উপায় নির্ধারণ করেন। এর মাধ্যমে কমিউনিটি পর্যায়ে শিশু-বান্ধব, সংবেদনশীল এবং ভুক্তভোগীকেন্দ্রিক সেবা নিশ্চিতকরণের ক্ষেত্রে একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অগ্রগতি সাধিত হয়েছে।
কর্মশালার পরবর্তী পদক্ষেপ হিসেবে সেবা নির্দেশিকাটি চূড়ান্ত করে সিএসও এবং সংশ্লিষ্ট অংশীজনদের মধ্যে বিতরণ করা হবে। পাশাপাশি, ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ শিশু ও তরুণদের জন্য রেফারেল ও সহায়তা ব্যবস্থার কার্যকারিতা বৃদ্ধির লক্ষ্যে নির্দেশিকাটির ব্যাপক ব্যবহার ও প্রসারে উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করা হবে।

INCIDIN Bangladesh, as part of EU- Speak Up! project, successfully organized a Service Directory Validation Workshop on 17 June 2026 in Dhaka.
The workshop brought together representatives from civil society organizations (CSOs), implementing partners, and relevant government institutions, including the National Child Helpline (1098), the Government Helpline (109), and the Bangladesh Police. The primary objective of the workshop was to validate a comprehensive service directory designed to support children and youth affected by online and offline s*xual abuse and exploitation.
Through interactive discussions and collaborative review, participants identified existing service gaps, refined referral pathways, and reached a consensus on mechanisms to strengthen coordination among service providers. This marks an important step toward enhancing access to timely, child-sensitive, and survivor-centered support services at the community level.
As a follow-up to the workshop, the service directory will be finalized and disseminated among CSOs and relevant stakeholders. Efforts will also be undertaken to promote its wider adoption and utilization to improve referral and support mechanisms for vulnerable children and young people.

Red Card to Child Labour

Child participants from Mollahat Project Office of INCIDIN Bangladesh represented the voices of nation's children at the South Asian regional consultation held on "Global Day against Child Labour". The event was organized by SAIEVAC. The two child representatives, Nafisa and Arfin took the stand on legal enforcement, education, skilling and comprehensive approach to end child labour. National Action and Coordination Group provided this opportunity of speaking up.

One of the thousand souls touched by the work of INCIDIN Bangladesh.

After losing her father, Halima moved to Dhaka to support her family, where she was forced into s*x work for three years.

In 2023, our partner INCIDIN Bangladesh identified her as a trafficking survivor and began planning her reintegration.

A key barrier to her recovery was the lack of a birth certificate, which blocked access to education, healthcare and social protection. INCIDIN fast‑tracked the process, enabling Halima to enrol in a skills training programme.

Following her training, she secured factory employment and was reunified with her family. She has since obtained a better‑paying job and now volunteers in her community, helping at‑risk children access government services.

Halima’s story is just one example of the 7,709 lives we’ve impacted, alongside our partners, in Bangladesh.
