The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) is the exclusive umbrella trade organization of Bangladesh representing MSMEs to the largest sectors of our country. Our current members are 500+ trade bodies including 86 district chambers, 404 trade & industrial sectoral associations, 14 women chambers, 3 women associations, 20 bilateral chambers in addition to corporate memb

ers from MSMEs to large enterprises and associate members of international trade organizations. The chamber closely works with policy makers, stakeholders at national and international platforms on policy advocacy, trade facilitation, investment promotion, skills etc. FBCCI’s international engagements are with 130 global strategic partner organizations. FBCCI’s Impact 4.0 initiative 2020 takes a 360° approach to our engagements in social, culture, sports, education and philanthropic initiatives in addition to our advocacy role.

Mr. Md. Alamgir, Secretary General of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), attended the 18th China-South Asia Business Forum in Yuxi, Yunnan, China, on October 15, 2025.

The Forum functions as a pivotal institutional platform designed to significantly enhance bilateral and multilateral economic cooperation between China and South Asian nations. Bringing together government representatives, business leaders, and stakeholders. It focuses on accelerating trade liberalization, promoting mutual investment, and establishing consensus on key initiatives to improve regional connectivity. It is instrumental in fostering a more integrated, resilient, and prosperous business environment across the region.

In his address, the Secretary General of FBCCI stated, from the Belt and Road Initiative to breakthroughs in AI, 5G, health technology, fintech, and green innovation, China has shown the world how to build and harness new productive forces at scale. China is a role model to the South Asian nations. As Bangladesh charts its own path, we invite our Chinese counterparts and investors to deepen engagement with us through joint ventures in advanced manufacturing, R&D collaborations, and pioneering projects in renewable energy and climate-resilient infrastructure.

Mr. Alamgir mentioned, our vision is of a partnership that goes beyond the trade. It is about creating a symbiotic relationship where China’s technological leadership and economic scale merge with Bangladesh’s strategic location and youthful talent pool to generate shared prosperity. He encourages Chinese investment in Bangladesh in sectors like renewable energy, automobiles, ICT, light engineering, fintech, etc.

The FBCCI delegation, notably including Mr. Md. Abdur Razzaq and Mr. Nuruddin Ahmed, General Body Member of the FBCCI, also participated in the forum.

A view exchange meeting on the current market demand and future prospects of rice bran oil in Bangladesh was held on October 06, 2025 at FBCCI office in Motijheel, Dhaka.

Representatives of the rice bran oil sector of Bangladesh, business leaders from chambers and associations attended the meeting. The meeting was emphasized on market potential, supply chain and investment opportunities in rice bran oil sector in Bangladesh.

Mr. Md. Alamgir, Secretary General of FBCCI presided over the view exchange meeting. Mr. Yozaemon Yamaguchi, Managing Director of the Japanese company Sanwa Yushi Limited was also present at the meeting.

SAARC CCI conference on Advancing Global and Regional Trade & Investment was held on September 18, 2025 at a city hotel in Dhaka. The conference had two separate sessions titled “Emerging Trades in Global Politics and Implications in the Global Economic Order” and “Increasing South Asia Economic Cooperation: Options for Enhancing Connectivity, Trade and Investment”.

SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and FBCCI organized the conference to identify trade and investment opportunities and barriers in the South Asian region, as well as ways to overcome the challenges.

Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce graced the conference as the chief guest. SCCI President Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin, FBCCI Secretary General Mr. Md. Alamgir, Director of the SAARC Secretariat (Economy, Trade and Finance) Mr. Bhavesh R. Trivedi, Business leaders from various chambers and associations, diplomats, representatives from SAARC Chambers and FBCCI were also present at the conference.

The 4-day "South Asia Trade Fair 2025" kicks off on September 18, 2025 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka with the participation of SAARC countries. Products and services from the best brands in South Asia, including fashion and lifestyle products, electronics products, cosmetics, jewelry, processed foods, technology products, home appliances and kitchenware, are available in the fair.

Mr. Mahbubur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of Bangladesh inaugurated the fair. SCCI President Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin, FBCCI Secretary General Mr. Md. Alamgir, Director of the SAARC Secretariat (Economy, Trade and Finance) Mr. Bhavesh R. Trivedi were present at the ceremony.

The fair is organized by the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in collaboration with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the Ministry of Commerce, and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

South Asia Trade Fair-2025 kicks off after a day in Dhaka with the participation of SAARC countries. The fair will showcase various types of products including ready-made garments, textiles, pharmaceuticals, jewelries, cosmetics, leather products, home appliances and kitchenware, processed food, electronics, etc. Hundreds from companies will participate in the fair with their products and services.

SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in collaboration with the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) is organizing the fair.

A press conference was held at the FBCCI's Motijheel office on September 16, 2025 afternoon to brief the fair.

Highlighting the features of the South Asia Trade Fair 2025, Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Butt, Secretary General of SCCI informed that the top companies from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are participating in this fair. This fair will help to create people to people connectivity which is very important to promote regional trade and business.

Earlier in his welcome speech at the press conference, FBCCI Secretary General Md. Alamgir highlighted the purpose of forming the SAARC Chamber and its activities in promoting regional trade and business. He said, South Asia Trade Fair 2025 will also help to promote traditions and cultural characteristics of the countries through highlighting various products like textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and electronics. Business knowledge will also be exchanged among businessmen through this fair, he noted.
