🎓 Mitacs Research Internship Seminar Successfully Completed! 🇨🇦🔬

The Cyber Security Centre, DIU (CSC), Daffodil International University successfully organized a special seminar on Mitacs Research Internship Opportunities in Canada on 17 August 2026.

We sincerely thank Dr. Ajmery Sultana, Assistant Professor, School of Computer Science and Technology, Algoma University, Canada, for sharing valuable insights on the Mitacs Globalink Research Award, the application process, research opportunities, and pathways to international research.

Our special thanks to Dr-Rubaiyat Islam for his valuable support and contribution in making this seminar successful. We also extend our appreciation to all the Mitacs research alumni and students currently going through the application process who joined the session and shared their real experiences, challenges, and lessons learned with the participants.

We are also grateful to Dr. Saadia Binte Alam, Associate Professor and Director of IUB 360 , Independent University, Bangladesh for her insightful speech on this prestigious research program.

Heartfelt thanks to Nazmul Islam Nice , of International Affairs, DIU for assuring full support to students regarding visa processing and other necessary documentation following the Mitacs award declaration.

The seminar also opened the possibility of a future MoU between Software Engineering at Daffodil International University - DIU and Algoma University after this program.

From research wing of CSC we have successfully conducted the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Workshop: Mastering the PRISMA Method for CS Batch 40 Thesis Students.

The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Rubaiyat Islam, Associate Professor, Department of Software Engineering and Director of the Cyber Security Centre (CSC), Daffodil International University.

Participants gained practical insights into PRISMA guidelines, flow diagrams, quality assessment, data synthesis and best practices for conducting a systematic literature review essential skills for developing high-quality thesis research.

🔐 Cyber Awareness for Young Minds

The Cyber Security Centre, DIU / (CSC), Daffodil International University, successfully organized a short yet impactful cybersecurity awareness outreach program for the students of Daffodil University School & College(DUSC).

The interactive session focused on four essential cybersecurity topics:
✅ Safe Internet Usage
✅ Social Media Safety
✅ Password Hygiene
✅ Protection Against Common Online Threats

Through engaging quizzes, games and interactive discussions, students actively participated while learning practical ways to stay safe and responsible in the digital world.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our respected faculty members for their guidance and continuous support in making this initiative a success. Special appreciation goes to the dedicated team who prepared the cybersecurity awareness content and to our Student Associate for his invaluable support throughout the program.

🚀 Strengthening Collaboration in Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies

We are proud to share that Dr-Rubaiyat Islam Sir, Associate Professor, Daffodil International University and Director of the DIU Cyber Security Center, served as a trainer in the Advanced Technology Training Program organized by the Office of the Controller of Certifying Authority (CCA), ICT Division, Government of Bangladesh.

The program brought together experts from government, academia and industry, including Mr. A.T.M. Zeaul Islam (Controller, CCA), Mr. Mamunur Rahman (Managing Director, Innovative Minds and Consulting Ltd.) and Mr. Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan (Team Leader/Project Manager, BPPA). The program was coordinated under the guidance of Mr. Shahiduzzaman (Deputy Controller, CCA) as Course Director and Mr. Kazi Showeb Mohammad (Assistant Programmer, CCA) as Course Coordinator.

A key focus of the discussions was Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), an emerging technology that is expected to play a vital role in the future of cybersecurity. Discussions were also held on strengthening collaboration between CCA, ICT Division and the DIU Cyber Security Center through research, training, knowledge sharing and potential internship opportunities for students.

We look forward to future collaborations that will contribute to cybersecurity innovation, research and workforce development in Bangladesh.
