NID verification through API for MFIs

We extend our gratitude to the Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) for enabling the verification of NID (National Identity) data for MFI members through an API.

It is a pleasure to share that SETU, an organization, is now automatically verifying the identities of its members using the API provided by the MRA. The adoption of this technology is saving the organization significant time, effort, and financial resources.

We commend the MRA for its foresight in creating this opportunity, which facilitates greater operational efficiency. We believe that such technological infrastructure will serve as a vital support system for microfinance industries.@

API মাধ্যম সদস্যদের এনআইডি ভেরিফাই করার সিদ্ধান্ত গ্রহণের জন্য এমআরএ কতৃপক্ষে ধন্যবাদ জ্ঞাপন করছি।

অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সাথে জানাচ্ছি যে, এমআরএ প্রদত্ত API ব্যবহার করে সেতু সংস্থার কালেকশন App মাধ্যম সদস্যের বাড়িতে অবস্থান করে ফিল্ড অফিসার নিজেরাই অটোমেটিক ভেরিফাই করছেন। প্রযুক্তি ব্যবহারের ফলে সংস্থার শ্রম, সময় এবং আর্থ সাশ্রয় হচ্ছে।

সেতু’কে এই মহৎ উদ্যোগের সঙ্গে থাকার সুযোগ সৃষ্টি করায় এমআরএ কর্তৃপক্ষকে কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাচ্ছি। প্রযুক্তি নির্ভর এমন পরিষেবা ক্ষুদ্র অর্থায়নকারী প্রতিষ্ঠান সমূহের সহায়ক শক্তি হিসেবে কাজ করবে বলে বিশ্বাস করি।

Had the honor of representing SETU (NGO) at the career seminar titled "Preparing for Your Career: Employer Expectations & Career Insights" held at Islamic University, Kushtia.

The event took place at the Bir Sreshtho Hamidur Rahman Auditorium and was jointly organized by Bdjobs and the IEEE IU Student Branch.

On behalf of SETU, Md. Alaul Alam, Coordinator (MF), attended the session as a distinguished panelist to share key NGO perspectives and career advice with students. The discussion focused on employer expectations, soft skills, corporate culture, and future career readiness.

It was a fantastic platform to highlight how organizations like SETU connect education with practical professional growth.

We are pleased to share that Mr. Istiak Ibne Rouf, Coordinator (Research) at C3ER, BRAC University, joined the side event, “Scaling Climate Resilience, Green Livelihoods and Nature-Based Solutions in the Bay of Bengal Region,” at RCOY APAC 2026, organised by SETU NGO.

🎯 Speaking on the panel “Climate Finance, Inclusion & Regional Cooperation,” Mr. Istiak shared perspectives on the current climate finance landscape in South Asia.

He highlighted the need for greater private sector engagement in blended finance and support for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to strengthen green entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities.

He also emphasised an integrated approach bringing together the private sector, banks, government and global climate finance sources to make climate and green finance more accessible to vulnerable coastal communities and local enterprises. 🌱

The session also explored how Bangladesh and other Bay of Bengal countries can share knowledge, financing models and successful approaches to advance inclusive, climate-resilient and nature-positive development across the region.

Scaling Climate Resilience, Green Livelihoods and Nature-Based Solutions in the Bay of Bengal Region

As part of Day 2 of the Regional Conference of Youth (RCOY) Asia-Pacific 2026, SETU Bangladesh organized a dedicated side event at BRAC University, Dhaka, bringing together experts and climate advocates to explore pathways toward a more resilient and sustainable future.

The session featured an engaging panel discussion with distinguished speakers, focusing on strengthening climate resilience, promoting green livelihoods, and advancing nature-based solutions across the Bay of Bengal Region.

The discussion highlighted the importance of locally driven solutions, sustainable livelihood opportunities, and collaborative approaches to addressing the growing impacts of climate change.

Through this initiative, SETU continues to create platforms for knowledge exchange, meaningful dialogue, and collective action toward climate justice and sustainable development.
