To observe the Theme of Rotary month of September to promote basic education and literacy, Rotary Club of Dhaka MahaNagar distributed 250 school Dresses and Sewing Machines to the students of Mirpur Free Primary School Govern by Shathy Somaj Kallayan Shangstha.

Most of the students are the children of Domestic Helpers ( Chuta bua), CNG Drivers, Rishkaw Pullers. They lives in near by slums.

রোটারি ক্লাব অব ঢাকা মহানগরের সাবেক, বর্তমান ও পরবর্তী প্রেসিডেন্টদের একটি দল গণপ্রজাতন্ত্রী বাংলাদেশের নবনির্বাচিত মহামান্য রাষ্ট্রপতি, মোহাম্মদ শাহাবুদ্দীন ও দেশের ফার্স্ট লেডি অধ্যাপিকা রেবেকা সুলতানা কে অভিনন্দন জানাতে সম্প্রতি বঙ্গভবনে যাওয়ার অনন্য সুযোগ হোয়েছিল।

সকল রোটারিয়ানরা জেনে খুশি হবেন যে, আমাদের দেশের ফার্স্ট লেডি প্রফেসর রেবেকা সুলতানা দেশ ও বিদেশে রোটারির লক্ষ্য ও কর্মকাণ্ডে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে আমাদের ' রোটারি ক্লাব অফ ঢাকা মহানগর' এ যোগদান করেছেন। আমাদের সুযোগ হোয়েছিল তাঁকে রোটারিয়ান হিসেবে ' ইন্ডাকশন' পিন পড়িয়ে দিনটিকে স্মরণীয় করে রাখবার। নিঃসন্দেহে ফার্স্টলেডী, সাবেক সরকারী কর্মকর্তা, রেবেকা সুলতানার অভিজ্ঞতা, উদ্দীপনা ও প্রজ্ঞা বাংলাদেশ রোটারীর কর্মকান্ডকে আরো শক্তিশালী করবে বলে আমাদের দৃঢ় বিশ্বাস ।
