Organizational Background
Bengali word "Shishuder Jonno Aamra" means –"We are for the Children" began in July 2010 with 15 children and within one year period 30 street children have been taken over by SJA. The founder of the organization Hazera Bagum a brave woman, who had the experience of staying on the street. She has struggled through the life, made her own identity, won national and internat
ional awards for her strong support to win over HIV epidemic in Bangladesh, and has committed herself to save the children of the street. Funds includes individual donation, jakat, rice from the neighbors, collection of meat on the occasion of Eid–Ul Azha, clothes from some garment factory owners , old clothes from anyone …as a result some children are staying in a home , not on the street. With time Hazera got support from university students specially Dhaka and Jahangir Nagar University and from her networks with CBOs, NGOs, DPs, Journalists, her neighbors among others Currently this very personal initiative has become a registered organization with Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of People's Republic of Bangladesh: Shishuder Jonno Aamra! This is a fragile beginning of a great initiative, needs a long way to go and needs support from everyone around it to sustain and render service to the children of the street that includes children of the s*x workers, orphans and floating poor and disadvantaged children of the country. Ensure sustainable care for the children of the centre in order to help them realizing there rights with support from people of all of walks of life. Develop a model Child Care Center in Dhaka and expand into at least 2 others areas in next five years. Banking Procedure

Rabin, Sayem, Sayeed, Swapan, Farzana, Shelly, Pakhi…..now have the access to food, healthcare and regular medical check-ups. They have found a shelter, and now dare to dream. Most importantly, they are living the childhood they always stared at from a distance. These days, they go to bed with homely love and sense of security and wake up the next morning with dreams of a new day. The day passes in studies, games, laughter, emotion and hanging out with each other. Future sparkles in their eyes.
“Shishuder Jonno Aamra” embarked on its journey in July 13, 2010. Today, this organization has turned to be a family of 30 urchins. These children don’t want to find themselves back on the streets again. The family has a mother, Hazera Begum, who herself grew up on the street. A born fighter, this gallant woman survived through many cross-currents. She worked relentlessly to save people from contracting HIV/AIDS, and received admiration and recognition at home and abroad for the service. Hazera knows with life the vulnerability of being on the street. That’s why she has employed all her strength to give these street children a decent life. Her relentless solo effort took the shape of a registered organization, Shishuder Jonno Aamra. This sapling of an initiative can thrive as a tree someday. All it needs is a bit of everyone’s cooperation. TOGETHER, we can keep Nipa, Nila, Shila….from landing back on the streets. And TOGETHER, we can salvage many more Nipa, Nila and Shilas and show them the way to a respectable life. Our heart, our hand can save many young lives from being lost in uncertainty. You’ll need to go beyond the carpeted streets of the capital and get on to the muddy road over the town protection dam and then head further to find it. There are three small rooms with no bed, let alone chair and table. The children study and have their meals on the floor. But the silver lining is they still have food, laughter to live with and the privilege to schooling. If you extend your hand “Shishuder Jonno Aamra” will be able to provide standard service to these under-privileged children. This organization can turn into a shelter, a family where they can find the warmth and the opportunity to bloom. You can be anybody, a student, homemaker, teacher, religious leader or a political figure. You can be an organization, a CBO, an NGO, a Donor organization, government organization, UN mission, a business or a corporate house. We desperately need your support and cooperation. সনির্বন্ধ আবেদন
রবিন, সায়েম, সাঈদ, স্বপন, ফারজানা, শেলি, পাখি...ওরা সবাই এখন তিন বেলা খেতে পায়, অসুখবিসুখে চিকিৎসা পায়, নিয়মিত স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষার সুযোগ পায়। ওরা এখন মাথার ওপরে ছাদ পেয়েছে, স্বপ্ন দেখার সাহস পেয়েছে। ওরা ফিরে পেয়েছে ওদের শৈশব।
বাড়ির নিরাপত্তা আর আদরযত্নের ছায়ায় ওরা প্রতিরাতে নিশ্চিন্ত্মে ঘুমাতে যায় আর জেগে ওঠে নতুন দিনের স্বপ্ন চোখে নিয়ে। পড়াশোনা, খেলাধুলা, হাসি-আনন্দ, মান-অভিমান, খুনসুটি-দুষ্টামিতে ওদের প্রতিটি দিন তরতর করে কেটে যায়। ওদের বুক ভরে থাকে আগামী দিনের আশা আর আশ্বাসে।
'শিশুদের জন্য আমরা' যাত্রা শুরু করেছিল জুলাই ১৩, ২০১০ সালে। আজ সংগঠনটি হয়ে উঠেছে ৩০ জন পথশিশুর এক পরিবার। এই শিশুরা আর পথে ফিরে যেতে চায় না।
এ পরিবারে ওদের আছেন এক মা-হাজেরা, যিনি নিজে ছোটবেলা কাটিয়েছেন পথে। আজন্ম সংগ্রামী সাহসী এই নারী অনেক প্রতিকূলতার সঙ্গে লড়ে নিজের পরিচয় নিজে গড়েছেন। কাজ করেছেন এইচআইভির প্রকোপ ঠেকানোর লক্ষ্যে, জিতে এনেছেন জাতীয় ও আন্ত্মর্জাতিক পুরস্কার আর স্বীকৃতি।
হাজেরা নিজের জীবন দিয়ে পথে থাকার বিপন্নতা জানেন। আর তাই তিনি তাঁর সবটুকু শক্তি দিয়ে ব্রতী হয়েছেন পথশিশুদের জীবন গড়ে তোলার কাজে। তাঁর ব্যক্তিগত নিরলস উদ্যোগ আজ রূপ নিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ সরকারের সমাজসেবা অধিদপ্তরে নিবন্ধিত একটি প্রতিষ্ঠানে - 'শিশুদের জন্য আমরা!'
উদ্যোগের এই অঙ্কুর বিকশিত হয়ে একদিন ফুলে-ফলে ভরে উঠতে পারে। এ সম্ভাবনার বিকাশের জন্য আজ আপনার-আমার সবার সব রকম সহায়তা দরকার। আমরা পারি নীপা, নীলা, শিলার পথে ফিরে যাওয়া ঠেকাতে। আমরা পারি আরও অনেক নীপা-নীলা-শীলাকে রাজপথ থেকে জীবনের সম্ভাবনার পথে নিয়ে আসতে। আমাদের সহায়তা-সহমর্মিতা অনেকগুলো জীবনের অঙ্কুরকে পথের ধুলায় হারিয়ে যাওয়া থেকে রক্ষা করতে পারে।

রাজধানীর ঝকমকে পাকা রাজপথগুলো পেরিয়ে ধুলায় ছাওয়া বেড়িবাঁধের রাস্ত্মা থেকে নেমে অনেকটা ভেতরে গেলে তবে এর হদিস মিলবে। তিনটি ছোট ছোট ঘরে চেয়ার-টেবিল খাট-পালং নেই। শিশুরা পড়াশোনা খাওয়া-দাওয়া করে মেঝেতে বসে। কিন্তু সবচেয়ে বড় কথা হচ্ছে - তারা খেতে পায়, হাসি-আনন্দের নাগাল পায়, আর যেতে পায় স্কুলে।
আপনি পাশে দাঁড়ালে 'শিশুদের জন্য আমরা' এ সমাজের সবচেয়ে সুবিধাবঞ্চিত এই শিশুদের জন্য মানসম্মত সেবা জোগাতে পারবে। এ প্রতিষ্ঠান হয়ে উঠবে এমন এক আশ্রয়স্থল, এমন এক পরিবার, যেখানে এই শিশুরা সুরক্ষা আর বিকাশের পর্যাপ্ত সুযোগ পাবে।
