🌍 What is the Youth Climate Negotiators Fellowship?

A 5-month fellowship by Youth for NDCs & UNICEF Bangladesh that prepares young people in Bangladesh to engage in international climate negotiations under the UNFCCC.

And it’s a Launch!

We are super excited and honoured to announce that Youth for NDCs, with support from German Embassy Dhaka is launching a new project titled “People Led LT-LEDs: Bangladesh’s Low Carbon Future” To support the development of a robust, inclusive, and development-aligned LT-LEDS for Bangladesh by generating evidence-based, people-led recommendations that reflect national priorities, sectoral realities, and long-term low-carbon pathways.

Under this project, we will bring together Youth, relevant ministries and agencies of the government, Development Entities, Financial and Multinational Financial Institutions, Universities, Experts, Unions & CSOs to make Bangladesh's first LT-LEDs a Whole of Government, Economy & Society policy document that has (YOU)th key drivers of Bangladesh's long term commitments.

The day was electic, energetic and full of productivity.

Young people spoke, the government, developments partners, academia listened!

Youth for NDCs in partnership with University of Dhaka organzied the "NDC Dialogues- Implementation: From Commitments to Action" with support from European Union in Bangladesh, Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka, German Embassy Dhaka, GIZ, Bangladesh Institute of Planners - BIP and strategic support from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bangladesh at Dhaka University on the 18th of May.

The Dialogue focused on identifying specific and actionable recommendations by young people for Bangladesh's NDC 3.0 Implementation Roadmap. Young people presented 18 recommendations to the government on NDC 3.0 Implementation in presence of development partners, donor agencies, academia, experts and civil society.

This dialogue shows, when young people speak and other key stakeholders listen, change comes!

Selected participants for the "NDC Dialogues- Implementation" have been EMAILED!

We are glad to announce that the selected participants for the "NDC Dialogues- Implementation: From Commitments to Action" by Youth for NDCs & University of Dhaka, with support from European Union in Bangladesh, Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka, German Embassy Dhaka, GIZ & Bangladesh Institute of Planners - BIP, with strategic support from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bangladesh have been emailed with confirmation and next steps.

We received way too many applications and unfortunately, we cannot accommodate everyone who applied. If you did not receive an email, please don't be sad, our paths will definitely cross in future.

Youth for NDCs, in partnership with the University of Dhaka, European Union in Bangladesh, Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka, German Embassy Dhaka, GIZ, and Bangladesh Institute of Planners - BIP, with strategic support from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bangladesh, is organizing the “NDC Dialogues- IMPLEMENTATION: From Commitments to Action” on 18th May, at Dhaka University.

The dialogue will bring together youth, academics, policymakers, development partners, researchers, and climate practitioners to discuss one important question, “How do we turn Bangladesh’s NDC 3.0 commitments into real action?”
