Nepal has recently suffered heavy rain and glacial collapses that have resulted in massive flash floods across the country, causing severe damages. Within a few moments, entire villages, roads and even infrastructure were damaged or washed away.

Hundreds of people are missing and many have been killed in this tragic incident. Search and rescue is ongoing in difficult terrain conditions, with thousands of people trapped. Families are without safe housing, clean water and medical care, a situation no one wishes to encounter in their lives.

BRAC University Adventure Club (BUAC), with its passion and respect for nature and mountain communities of Nepal, is greatly saddened by the tragic events in the country. We all feel the loss of lives, homes and livelihoods in Nepal. Our hearts stand with Nepal as it grieves, heals and rebuilds.

An unforgettable Journey to remember!!

BRAC University Adventure Club (BUAC) recently headed out to Fantasy Kingdom in Savar to experience a jam-packed, thrilling and joyful Get-together.

The enthusiasm of the day was completely unmatched. As the day went on, the endless cheerful screams from rides to joyful laughter from members, the whole squad kept the energy and excitement rising from morning till evening. The vibrant spirit turned an ordinary day to an extraordinary experience.

It was a perfect opportunity for BUAC members to give themselves a break from the stressful university routine while meeting new members of BUAC and creating bonds with the honorable alumni. This gave a great opportunity to the BUAC members to make cordial connections with each other as well as with alumni.

The day reminded us how cheerful and incredible our life turns, when we take a break to celebrate moments and bonds.

This time, BRAC University Adventure Club (BUAC) has conquered “Khoiyachora Waterfall”.

‎At the dawn of 5th August, our journey of victory began from BRAC University, with beautiful rain. The bus ride from Dhaka to Mirsarai Upazila was filled with a unique thrill, with a perfect mix of club members, alumni and faculty members. We were honored to have the presence of our respected faculty members Mr. Tarvir Anjum Aditto sir and Ms. Shadmin Sultana ma’am with us. Together with their presence, we faced many obstacles and went on, which made our journey even more memorable and inspiring.

‎The moment the billboard welcomed us to Khoiyachora Waterfall, our real adventure began. More than 100 wayfarers, driven by thirst for beauty, traveled miles of high-low stream paths, risky rocky roads and slopes as well as faced the strong currents of the waterfalls where wayfarers showed a noble example of their patience and never-give-up mentality.

Finally, the vastness, artistic and cold water flow of “Khoiyachora Waterfall”quenched the Wayfarer's thirst for beauty and washed away the exhaustion of travel.
‎
This was not just an ordinary tour, it was a gathering of travel-thirsty souls, a story of courage and a way to create countless memories and bonding, something BUAC never fails to achieve. Through this adventure, BUAC once again realized that the beauty of nature is even more captivating than its terror.

বাংলা অভিধানে "বাংলাদেশি" শব্দটি সাহস, দৃঢ়তা ও মর্যাদার প্রতীক। এই দেশের মানুষ অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়িয়েছে সবসময়। ২০২৪ সালের ৫ আগস্ট, যা "৩৬ জুলাই" নামে স্মরণীয়, সেই দিনটি জুলাইজুড়ে সংগ্রাম ও আত্মত্যাগ করা মানুষদের সম্মান জানায়।

এই আন্দোলনের সূচনা করেছিলেন সাহসী শিক্ষার্থীরা। পরবর্তীতে সমাজের সকল শ্রেণি ও পেশার মানুষ তাদের সঙ্গে যোগ দিয়ে স্বৈরাচার ও অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে একসঙ্গে লড়াই করেন।

আহত হন অনেকে, অনেকে জীবন উৎসর্গ করেন। অনেক মায়ের কোল খালি হয়ে যায়। ২০২৪ সালের জুলাই ছিল রক্ত, সাহস ও ঐক্যের এক স্মরণীয় অধ্যায়। প্রতিটি আত্মত্যাগ ও প্রতিটি শহীদের রক্ত আমাদের স্বাধীনতার মূল্য স্মরণ করিয়ে দেয়।

জুলাইয়ের প্রতিটি স্লোগান, প্রতিটি প্রতিবাদ আর প্রতিটি স্বপ্ন মিলেই তৈরি হয়েছে ৫ আগস্টের ইতিহাস। তাই কবি শামসুর রাহমান বলেন,

“তোমাকে পাওয়ার জন্যে, হে স্বাধীনতা,

তোমাকে পাওয়ার জন্যে,

আর কতবার ভাসতে হবে রক্তগঙ্গায়?”

Today, we stand in boundless gratitude to honour the Private University Resistance day, a significant moment in our nation’s history that was led by the fierce students of the private universities of our nation.

We can never forget the courage of those who didn't run away from the battlefield, who fought against injustice and sacrificed their lives. For every private university student and especially our BRAC University students, this day is a reminder of our unity, courage and dignity. During that time, the students showed us how a significant change can be created with unity!

At BRAC University Adventure Club (BUAC), we believe that true adventure is not only about exploring the unknown, but also about having the courage to stand firm when it matters. We carry the spirit of unity, resilience and fearlessness with us on every trail we explore and in every challenge we face whether in summiting mountains or standing against injustice.

As we move forward, the journey doesn't end. Let’s carry the torch of courage and resilient spirits of the students who sacrificed their lives in the uprising movement of 2024, into our classroom, our communities and every expedition we embark upon.

And remember, The earth was never just given to us, it was entrusted to us.

The BRAC University Adventure Club (BUAC) enthusiastically welcomed its newest adventurers through the Summer 26 'Step2Glee’ orientation program, where the Vintage Retro style conveyed a charm that brought back the era of the '90s. Every corner resonated with joy, bliss and a familiar nostalgia as we celebrated the thrill and starting of a new era.

The evening energized everyone with soulful singing, compelling dance performances, captivating activities and charming interactions. The BUAC Panel, the Executive Body (EB), introduced themselves, outlined their vision and set a tone of excitement, laughter and a genuine feeling of home. Our respected Advisor Dr. Seuty Sabur Ma'am and Co-Advisor Rakin Bin Rabbani Sir inspired us with their thoughtful words. While our esteemed alumni shared their invaluable experiences and reminded us that every adventure begins with a single turn and every memory is worth cherishing.

As the lights dimmed and the music sounded softer, the spirit of BUAC was stronger than ever.
It was more than an orientation, it was an expression of community, passion and a story of what will inspire each group of new adventurers.

When nature tests us, humanity must stand stronger!

The ongoing floods in Chattogram and Cox's Bazar, along with landslides in Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagrachhari, have left countless families facing unimaginable hardship. Homes have been submerged, lives disrupted and communities are struggling to recover.
As a club that believes in resilience, unity, we ask everyone to keep the affected communities in your thoughts and prayers.

BRAC University Adventure Club (BUAC) sincerely prays for the well-being of the people who are in distress. May Almighty protect everyone affected, grant them strength and patience and ease their hardships.

Let's all recite this Dua and pray for the ones in distress-

اللّٰهُمَّ ارْحَمْهُمْ وَاحْفَظْهُمْ وَفَرِّجْ كَرْبَهُمْ
“Allahumma irhamhum wa ihfazhum wa farrij karbahum”

Meaning: “O Allah, have mercy on them, protect them, and relieve their hardship”.

Greetings, Adventures! It is now the end of the waiting! We are really pleased to have all of you on board at BRAC University Adventure Club (BUAC). We are making this Freshers' Orientation a very exciting one to start your new journey, with fun, laughter and memorable moments.
Whether it's fun games, meeting new people, enjoying spectacular performances, or trying exciting new experiences, our orientation program, “Step 2 Glee (S2G)” has everything covered to help you connect with your peers and kick-start your journey on a high note.
