A one-day national-level Training of Trainers on Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) was conducted today at the EPI Building Conference Room. The session was led by teams from HISP Bangladesh, MIS, and EPI. Distinguished guests included the chairperson of the AEFI Expert Review Committee, the Director of MIS-DGHS, the Deputy Director of EPI, and the Assistant Director of DGDA, as well as officials from WHO and UNICEF. Medical officers from EPI and MIS-DGHS, the Statistical Office, a Senior System Analyst, a System Analyst, and other MIS officers and staff attended the training. This AEFI reporting and case investigation system was developed using DHIS2.

Our national HMIS Initiative, since 2010, has been jointly developed and implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Bangladesh, GTZ/GIZ, UNICEF, WHO, UNFPA, and other development partners.

Bangladesh’s Ministry of Health uses DHIS2 to manage data from over 14,000 clinics, supporting health services for millions across the country.

πŸ”Ž RESEARCH: A study published last week in BMC Global and Public Health examines Bangladesh's national cervical cancer screening program, which utilizes DHIS2 Tracker for case-based data collection.

"The experience of the viable and effective DHIS2-based electronic tracking of case-based cervical cancer data of women in Bangladesh can be a valuable lesson for other countries," the study's authors state.

The research was conducted by a team from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University-BSMMU, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Dhaka, Bangladesh and local DHIS2 implementation partner HISP Bangladesh Foundation.
