Today, IID conducted a series of FGDs with youths on gender equality and social inclusion. As part of IID’s continuous effort to strengthen GESI practices, the discussions sought to understand young people’s perspectives on how IID can become a more inclusive, safe, and responsive space for all.

The insights gathered from these FGDs will also support the development of IID’s GESI Massive Open Online Course video series, which aims to promote greater awareness, understanding, and practical application of gender equality and social inclusion in organizational and community settings. By listening directly to youth voices, IID aims to ensure that the MOOC content is grounded in real experiences, practical needs, and diverse perspectives.

How can AI make education more inclusive, future-ready and responsive to young people’s needs?
This question shaped a reflection workshop on April 25, where young people, educators, practitioners and policy thinkers came together to discuss AI in education, youth capacity building, collaboration opportunities and pathways for policy-level engagement.
The session explored how emerging technologies can support learning, strengthen youth-led ideas and open new possibilities for Bangladesh’s education system.
The workshop was jointly organized by and IID as part of IID’s ongoing work on education, AI, youth capacity building and policy engagement.

What does it really mean to build inclusive systems?
At a reception dinner hosted in honour of Professor James H. McDonald, the Institute for Informed Development (IID) and the Institute of Applied Anthropology (IAA) brought together academics, practitioners, civil society actors, and policy-engaged voices for a thoughtful discussion on “Listening to the Margins: Why Inclusive Systems Need Public Voice.”
Professor McDonald reminded us that inclusion remains incomplete when voices from the margins are not heard. The evening was joined by Syeed Ahamed, CEO of IID; Professor Mushtaque Raza Chowdhury; Professor Samia Huq, Dean, BRAC University; and others.
One message stood out clearly: real change begins when every voice is heard.

Every internship leaves behind a story. For Ekhyme Chowdhury, that story was shaped by learning, support, and steady growth.
Her time at IID as a Research Intern was more than a routine experience. It was a journey of building new skills, understanding real work more closely, and gaining confidence along the way. With the support of the team, she found a space where she could learn, contribute, and feel valued.
