Today, on October 28th, the "Activating Village Courts in Bangladesh Phase III" project organized a day-long workshop on Promoting Gender and Inclusion in the Village Courts System through Community Radio. Seventeen community radio stations from sixteen districts participated, making it a productive and insightful event.

The workshop provided a valuable platform to brainstorm ways community radio can support this project’s mission. This initiative is set to be exceptional in fostering inclusion and accessibility, ensuring that voices from all communities are heard and represented in the village court system.

Exciting times ahead as we work toward a more inclusive and accessible justice system!

সামাজিক যোগাযোগ মাধ্যমে কীভাবে ভুল ও মিথ্যা তথ্য এবং বিদ্বেষমূলক বক্তব্য চিহ্নিত করতে হয় এবং এগুলো প্রতিরোধে কমিউনিটি রেডিও কী ভুমিকা রাখতে পারে- তা নিয়ে অনলাইন কর্মশালার আয়োজন করেছে ইউনেস্কো এবং বিসিআরএ। সারাদেশের ১৭টি কমিউনিটি রেডিও’র তরুণ ও উদ্যমী কর্মীরা এ কর্মশালায় অংশগ্রহণ করছেন। 📻👩🏻‍💻🧑🏻‍💻

📻 Empowering Community Radio Content Creation: Addressing Mis/Disinformation and Hate Speech

UNESCO in collaboration with BCRA, organized a series of online workshops with community radio stations across Bangladesh. These sessions aim to provide community radio stations with essential tools and knowledge to tackle misinformation, disinformation, and hate speech effectively.

On August 27, 2024, Radio Sarabela from Gaibandha district took part in one of these workshops. Their team of young professionals is committed to using radio for positive change. The session was facilitated by Nadim Farhad, Peace and Development Officer at the UNRC office, with opening remarks and co-facilitation by Noore Jannat Proma, CI Officer at UNESCO.
