Good Neighbors Bangladesh has been working since 1996 to protect child rights, promote quality education, public health, women empowerment & community development, fostering dignity, resilience, & sustainable transformation for children, women, and youth. Presently it has 17 main projects in 13 districts including Cox's Bazar, Barguna and Thakurgaon. Currently Good Neighbors is running child education, health, water and sanitation, women, DRR and child rights advocacy and vocational training. It has child protection and GBV activities in the Rohingya refugee camps.

organized an Upazila Math Maestro Competition with the participation of 51 students from 17 primary schools.

The competition aimed to nurture students’ interest in Mathematics and strengthen their problem-solving and mathematical skills. The Upazila Primary Education Officer was present at the event and encouraged the students.

Five students were awarded special prizes for their outstanding performance.

The event concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from students and teachers, creating a joyful and inspiring learning environment.

Good health begins with care, awareness, and access.

organized a Special Health Campaign at the CDP premises, with the participation of Dr. Abdur Razzak, Civil Surgeon, Nilphamari, as Chief Guest, and Dr. Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, UHFPO, Sadar, Nilphamari.

With the support of specialist doctors in Pediatrics and ENT, a total of 117 patients received medical services. In addition, 400 community members received essential health and hygiene materials to promote healthier families and communities.

Together, we continue working toward a healthier, safer, and more inclusive community.

At the 1st RCASBC International Conference 2026 at the University of Chittagong, our Country Head shared insights on “Assessing the Impact of Good Neighbors Bangladesh’s Youth Development Initiatives on Human Security and Community Resilience.”

He highlighted how GNB engages young people through leadership development, volunteering, child protection awareness, climate action, nature conservation, advocacy, and career development—creating meaningful opportunities for youth to become active contributors to their communities.

From mobilizing young people to protect nature to encouraging them to stand up for children’s rights and protection, GNB believes that when youth are empowered to lead, communities become more resilient, inclusive, and secure.

চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বন ও পরিবেশ বিজ্ঞান ইনস্টিটিউট (IFESCU) এবং গুড নেইবারস বাংলাদেশ (GNB)-এর মধ্যে শিক্ষা, গবেষণা, ইন্টার্নশিপ, প্রশিক্ষণ ও মাঠভিত্তিক কার্যক্রমে সহযোগিতার লক্ষ্যে রবিবার (১৩ সেপ্টেম্বর ২০২৬) বিকাল ৩টায় চবি উপ-উপাচার্য (একাডেমিক) দপ্তরে একটি সমঝোতা স্মারক (MoU) স্বাক্ষরিত হয়েছে।

সমঝোতা স্মারকে চট্টগ্রাম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পক্ষে চবি রেজিস্ট্রার (ভারপ্রাপ্ত) মোঃ হাছান মিয়া এবং GNB-এর পক্ষে ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক বার্টিন গোমেজ স্বাক্ষর করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে IFESCU-এর পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. মোহাম্মদ মোশাররফ হোসেন এবং GNB-এর সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্মকর্তারা উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

চবি মাননীয় উপ-উপাচার্য (একাডেমিক) প্রফেসর ড. মোহাম্মদ আল-আমীন একাডেমিয়া, উন্নয়ন সংস্থা, নাগরিক সমাজ ও শিল্পখাতের মধ্যে এ ধরনের সহযোগিতার গুরুত্ব তুলে ধরে GNB-এর গবেষণা ও অন্যান্য কার্যক্রমে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থীদের আরও বেশি সম্পৃক্ত করার আহ্বান জানান।

GNB-এর ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক জানান, IFESCU-এর শিক্ষার্থীদের গবেষণা ও ইন্টার্নশিপে সম্পৃক্ত করার পাশাপাশি Seoul National University-সহ আন্তর্জাতিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ ও সহযোগিতার সুযোগ তৈরিতেও তারা উদ্যোগ নেবেন।

এই সমঝোতার মাধ্যমে যৌথ গবেষণা, প্রশিক্ষণ, প্রকল্প উন্নয়ন, মাঠভিত্তিক শিক্ষা এবং শিক্ষার্থীদের বাস্তব কাজের অভিজ্ঞতার নতুন সুযোগ তৈরি হবে বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। এসময় আরও উপস্থিত ছিলেন গুড নেইবারস বাংলাদেশের মনিটরিং ও অডিট ডিপার্টমেন্টের সিনিয়র ম্যানেজার প্রসেনজিৎ মোল্লাহ ও কন্যুনিকেশন এন্ড পার্টনারশিপ টিম-রিসোর্স ডেভেলপমেন্ট ডিপার্টমেন্টের টিম ম্যানেজার মো. আল-ইমরান মঞ্জু।

GNB Signs MoU with University of Chittagong

Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, University of Chittagong (IFESCU) to strengthen collaboration in education, research, field learning, environmental sustainability, community development, and knowledge exchange.

The MoU signing was held on 13 September 2026 at the Meeting Room of the Pro-Vice Chancellor’s Office, University of Chittagong.

Md. Hasan Meah, Registrar (In-Charge), University of Chittagong, signed the MoU on behalf of the University, while Bartin Gomes, Country Head, Good Neighbors Bangladesh, signed on behalf of GNB. Professor Dr. Mohammed Al-Amin, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), and Professor Dr. Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Director, IFESCU, were present at the occasion.

The partnership will create opportunities for student internships, joint research, field learning, capacity building, and community engagement.

Together, advancing knowledge, partnership, and sustainable community development.

At Good Neighbors Bangladesh, we work to create child-friendly and rights-based learning environments.

Through teacher capacity development, digital education, school management, and children’s participation, we are helping children become not only better learners, but also confident, aware, and responsible citizens.

Our partnerships with KOICA, Samsung C&T, and UNICEF are helping expand opportunities in digital learning, child protection, and the prevention of gender-based violence.

In recognition of its contribution to teacher development, Good Neighbors Bangladesh received the UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development in 2024.
