🛹 Happy Birthday, Susie Halsell! 🎂
For over a decade, you could spot a superwoman on the streets of Dhaka and across the country side, and in the narrow golis of informal settlements like Korail - skateboarding, teaching children how to skate, and filling their lives with joy, creativity, and new possibilities.
Many people might have paused for a moment, smiled, and wondered, “What is this foreigner doing?” Yes, she was doing something extraordinary. She was using skateboarding to bring smiles, opportunities, and hope to children who are often left behind.
Meet Susie Halsell, the founder of Bangladesh Street Kids Aid (BSKA), from the USA to Bangladesh. 🇺🇸🇧🇩
For Susie, skateboarding was never just a sport. It was a way to connect with underprivileged children and introduce them to art, education, creativity, and the simple joy of having fun. Through BSKA, she has invested her time, money, energy, and, most importantly, her love and care in helping children learn, grow, and believe in themselves.
Today, we celebrate and remember her incredible dedication and the countless moments she has shared with children over the years.
Thank you, Susie for everything. Thank you for showing us that a skateboard can be more than a board on wheels - it can be a bridge to learning, friendship, confidence, and a brighter future. 🛹
And as our BSKA skater girls lovingly call you, Susie Mom, we want to wish you the happiest of birthdays!
The girls are waiting for you, Susie Mom. Your skateboarding family in Bangladesh misses you and hopes to meet you again soon. ❤️
Happy Birthday, Susie Mom. Keep inspiring, keep rolling, and keep spreading love! 💚
