The primary goal of this event was to raise awareness about gibbons and forest conservation through active community engagement (Local and Indigenous peoples community).
The program was conducted in two sessions. The first session focused on schoolchildren and included a drawing competition, a quiz sessionโpreceded by an introductory lesson on gibbons along with a cultural program and a rally to spread conservation messages. The second session brought together individuals who work directly in and around the forest, creating an open space for discussion on conservation challenges, community roles, and sustainable practices.
The event was honored by the presence of the ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ซ (Head) of the Khasia Punji and special guest Dr. Habibon Naher, Department of Zoology, Jagannath University,, whose participation added great value to the initiative. We extend our sincere thanks to ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ง ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฌ and also to the teachers of the school and the community for their invaluable help in making this program successful.
Together, we hope to nurture a more aware and conservation-minded community for the protection of gibbons and their forest habitat.
